I'm happy with pld and I'm currently learning shb gnb and war, but I'm really happy with the new tank system changes they made, tanking is no longer stressful which makes it fun now plus getting your tank stance at lvl 10 as opposed to the old way of getting it at 30 is a huge QOL improvement.

Forgot to mention. Accessories!! They finally fixed the $#&!ing accessories! My raid group doesnt moan about 'another tank acc for my retainer' anymore because they are good. The 2 materia slots was a nice touch too. Im replacing my entire right side pentamelds over time for the 1st time.....ever. And ive been raiding as tank since before the 2.1 war rework. FINALLY NORMAL GEAR PROGRESSION!
Kudos SE. Took forever, but at least you finally got there.

Tank balance is staggeringly close. I play GNB/PLD which fight for the highest DPS depending on fight, and the lowest DPS WAR, almost 0 difference felt, and the top parses (which I don't come near anyway) are like 500 DPS away from one another. Not perfect, but probably as close as anybody could hope for. Absolutely excellent that an entire role has four classes that you can pick any one of and excel, not just measure up. The DPS classes and healers WISH they had this kind of balance.

I'm not a tank person but WAR actually is really fun. I haven't played tanks pre-ShB (besides getting them to max level) and especially WAR was a bit trying for me. I can't tell you what reworks have been made or if I just took more time to get to know the class but now I really enjoy tanking and don't want to miss him.

Gunbreaker is fun and the sounds are not the worst.

Love how my Paladin feels, even when I wasn't super crazy to get another repeat skill (Atonement) I still think Paladin is loads of fun. Easily one of my favorite jobs.
The damage balance is also really well done, the difference is quite small~
Glad you're happy too :D.

I expected to hate gunbreaker.
I thought it was going to be a projectile shooting gun with a slashing blade. Something that was tried all of once historically because it is massive fail.
When I did the intro quest and learned the idea was cartridges of aether used to magically boost a sword and create shields I was behind the concept...
But then I looked to other new jobs SE has added and figured this would be a weak tank barely able to even get an OT spot. Low DPS, bad mitigation, clunky rotation... basically 3.0 AST or any MCH before 5.0...
Then I played it and started hearing early feedback.
It’s basically my main now.
The gunbreaker is a rock solid design that has a really fun rotation, great sounds and animations, and is ideally suited for maintanking.
- I feel this was the most successful of all the 5.0 job designs. I love dancer, but I prefer gunbreaker.
Before Shadowbringers I had every tank at 70 on one of my other characters. My bard was meant as an alt and I gave her dancer to fit and Viera because she was an elezen before and I liked that least of all my alts... but once I decided I really liked Viera and Dancer I made this my main. So I got gunbreaker to get back access to tanking as fast as possible. And I’ve not had a major itch to get the other tank jobs back. Just slow leveling for the sake of completion.
Gunbreaker is just too fun.

I absolutely love the design of paladin's Royal Authority. It really captures the idea of being a holy and light based fighter. Most of the skill designs for paladin I enjoy really. Just especially Royal Authority.

I don't play tank but doesn't all tanks feel the same?
