You know, don't look at it entirely like it's a bad thing. It might serve as a reminder to SE of what they did wrong and what they can do to fix it. I'm not speaking necessarily of Yoshida-san, but of the company as a whole. They did admit that FFXIV has done damage to the Final Fantasy brand, so they are putting a lot of effort into fixing it for that reason, and while the game has come a long way, it still has a way to go before it is on par with other modern MMOs.

I've been streaming a lot of FFXIV on twitch.tv lately and a lot of the people that come to watch the stream are old beta players like myself asking me how the game has changed and been improved upon. I am not afraid to say the game has a ways to go but is at least playable now. I've even gotten many to rejoin the game. If it keeps going in a positive direction, I will promote it more when I stream.

bad news is better than no news. i'd say, let them bash; it'll only keep ffxiv in the minds of people who are listening and even though its not a 10/10 at its current state, people who are constantly reminded will someday in the future say "hey, i wonder if ffxiv is still bad" and they will see the progression and maybe change their minds and play
i rather let them say bad things about the game then not talk about the game at all
