Yes that is a good point, I would like SE to focus more on Content and less on things like the map. But it's just a suggestion for a future patch. And yah most people don't have a second monitor (although I'm not sure why? not like they are expensive, my second monitor is just a 19 inch standard monitor, cost only $99). But as it stands right now the Minimap I find to be rather useless because its zoomed in too far. Most MMO's that use a Minimap let you control the minimap to a degree, ours does not, which is another thing I would like to see in a future patch. I can remember my XI days SE still did not do anything really good with their map system. I remember having an addon do it so I could see where I was going at all times. To me its just a core function that should have always been there, and I think it should get worked on.
^just my 2 cents.
While I am sure that would be nice, I am pretty doubtful that SE is going to spend time programing something that is useful to a mere handful of people. There are far greater things they could spend their time doing that would actually be useful to the majority of players.Quote:
I have 2 monitor's, and I would LOVE to be able to open up the map and drag it off to the second monitor while leaving my game screen alone. I think this would be very useful for players.
Yeah its a shame- very few games actually, truly support multiple monitors. No I dont mean just maximizing them across or anything. Doom 1 could do that on release! Through lan, the other computers would in the "LAN Party" would be your wide angle views. People forget about that for some reason, anways. I mean making practical use of them. Supreme Commander if you play with multiple monitors makes one monitor be the information screen displaying the battle stats, and such. Allowing you to essentially have a huge HUD that you can always check up on. Some other games do features like that, but it's very far in between yet it adds immense practical use. Star Trek Armada you could set it so your second monitor worked as a scout, cycling showing you certain key areas so you could keep tabs on whats going on there while you were doing things at other sectors. World in Conflict also does a more dynamic approach utilizing the multi monitors for information displaying and other things.
Think of a professional at work with multiple monitors. They don't just have them there for one large picture of a graph! haha. They have multiple things going on. Something more games should embrace.
Multiple monitors have been on the rise like no tomorrow, and I think it is a good idea to have practical multiple monitor use, I think that it should be a 2.0 feature and not some patch thing. They need content and to fix crap right now.
to be honest i'd be happy if you simply adjust the transparancy of the map make it easier t osee where your going through it lol
