Scholar main from 2.0, I was levelling CNJ in the beta in prep. I was a healer main since. I mained RDM for half of SB to mix it up and give a DPS a go, then when I moved back to SCH it wasn't as good and went back to RDM. Then ShB changes made me think I'd hate the job now, because it didn't address what made SCH less interesting to heal and then removed the last thing I still enjoyed and that was weaving its DPS rotation. So I decided I'd look at something else for ShB. I was playing and enjoying BRD towards the end of SB, and a ranged DPS appealed, I saw how DNC was gonna work. Picked it, enjoy it, love it.
I am now trying out the healers more in depth to give it a try properly for my final verdict. But I am bored at the moment. AST is the only one I'm still somewhat interested by ATM because they have more to do in the downtime, but it's the healer Ive barely touched, so it may change once it is less fresh.
Meaning, I'll be doing content on DNC as I have thus far. But will have them levelled to give a fair final verdict and help FC members out if they need a healer.

I’ve actually taken up healing again as my main role, which I haven’t done since 3.0. I levelled WHM after Summoner and Red Mage and kind of fell in love with healing again. The sheer strength of WHM’s heals and damage is great.
Weirdly enough though I’m actually playing AST a lot more now, and I’m enjoying it a fair amount after today’s patch. Gravity spamming feels really good now in dungeons, and the heals feel a lot stronger now too. AST definitely could use some more balancing though, but either way I’m actually enjoying it a lot.

As much as I want to rn, I can't really bring myself to do it, and i think it's because i have hope that 5.1 will improve things further for us than this patch did. Though, if it doesn't, i dunno. I might quit healing, or maybe the game entirely. Scholar was everything i ever wanted in a healer and they ripped it all away from me, then they gave back energy drain, which is nice, but it's basically a bandaid on an amputated limb.

Yes. WHM since 2.3. Quit healing before 5.0 dropped because I got tired of settling for FFXIV's honestly fairly wretched healer design, and couldn't see myself enjoying another expansion of Stone Stone Stone Stone Stone Stone Stone Stone.
Try a DPS; they're first-class citizens in the job design paradigm and are usually endowed with a smart, feel-good, and impactful reward loop in mind.

No. I'm still a healer main.
Not happy with SCH ever since the SB rework, and Shadows made it worse. Temporarily took a Heal leave in SB for WAR, but back as SCH because of queue times.
Not the best situation, but because of my usual hours of play, and limited time to play, I'd rather just deal, so I can experience the Shadows content in a timely manner. Once I get my MCH and WAR back to lv cap, I'll probably go back to doing those jobs.

Nope. I leveled and geared AST and then turned right around and got the other healers prepped and geared, and I'll be raiding as whatever's needed. Then I realized Soul of Magic only needed two more jobs so I'm doing those for funsies.

Nope, still a healer main. I do, however, hardly play Astrologian and only play White Mage when I used to swap pretty evenly between the two since Heavensward. I haven't yet tested the Astrologian changes and am pretty excited to see them firsthand, but White Mage is just too strong, fun, and fluid to play anything else at the moment.

When I began to play FFXIV, my favourite class from all FF, White Mage, was at its worst place. Yes, I played the 3.4 WHM. And managed to go OOM in a solo duty.
During Stormblood, where SCH and AST were the absolute choices for healer and the healer balance was over the razor's edge until 4.2~4.3 (I don't recall for sure) where AST took over the niches where WHM were the META, shunned once again. And I mained WHM back then.
Now, that WHM is the BLM of healers, why should I quit healing with all those healer in need roulettes?

My opinion probably doesn’t matter here much since healings always been my side gig. But I still very much enjoy playing as the carry role.

I played a lot more DPS this expac.
I'm still a healer main, I'm doing savage on my healer... but I did have a pretty OK time relaxing on DPS through dungeons and stuff. I think it's probably the savage healing I couldn't give up. But maybe I'll do roulettes on DPS. It's a bit longer wait, but it's kind of relaxing to be able to ignore everything but your own rotation.
