But actually no, haven’t looked at the rankings or seen anything about AST vs. WHM. Since as I said I was looking mainly at the kits rather than the potencies which are very likely to be buffed when savage is released.

Other than that, thank you for your contribution on how they stack up.

Didn’t even think about the party bonus, that was probably done specifically to avoid physical stacking so yeah I should have factored that in.

You’re right, I dismissed BLM, MCH and SAM out of hand because of how pure dps have been treated in the meta up until now because of their lack of utility, but after writing the OP it got me to consider how thoroughly reigned in raid utility has been. It’s gone from people adding 10-20% permanent damage buffs down to 5% and the occasional 2-3 min CD, so the pure dps will likely be much more competitive.

Didn’t know that, that does make it more significant than I initially considered, so that’s true, BRD will probably be very good for prog while DNC will be better later.

Tanks honestly are a bit interchangeable right now. They're all really close.

Healers, there's a clear winning comp. AST just doesn't have the healing power or utility right now to beat the outright broken healing power of SCH and massive DPS of WHM.

For DPS, BLM and DRG are for sure players. BLM has truly insane damage and DRG has dmg rivaling Monk and SAM while having a lot of utility.
Monk is the best 3rd choice, it's really strong and has decent utility.

DNC has some great utility, but people may prefer Bard for the higher personal dmg.

DRK and WAR are a pair in terms of design with their 10 second delirium windows. Similar design parallels tho delirium is not as strong as inner release. A lot complain that DRK is too similar to WAR with its delirium window..

PLD and GNB both have a long rotation (PLD has fof/req window and GNB has no mercy window) and they both require maintenance of two dots on the enemy for max damage. GNB has its regen that is useful on itself or MT and PLD has clemency to heal but sacrifices its dps for it. GNB is a more offensive focused paladin with its heal ability as ogcd and a slightly weaker cooldown kit.

But in terms of dps it is so close together you can really bring any of the four and be okay. GNB suffers slightly because camouflage is not a great button and DRK are split on whether its rework is good or not but otherwise it is very balanced and only some minor tweaks to assist in qol is needed.

You also mention divine veil is a weaker form of shake it off but paladin also has passage of arms that can stack with divine veil. Paladin group mitigation is very strong.

From a Speed Kill meta which normally translates into just the meta overall.

Whm/Sch
Drg/Sam/Bard/Blm

This is what I heard in theory crafting.

Its not DNC and NIN mostly because their dps is way too low.
Those jobs are pretty much just for padding how their dps is atm.

Which imo, should stay there. If they buff nin and/or dnc, they'll just make them auto meta.
