Burnt out of the healer BS

I'm getting burnt out on the healer BS...of people complaining about DPS. Back in SB we just used dots and spammed our Malefic/Broil/Stone spell. We now have one dot and still spam our Malefic/Broil/Stone spell. Nothing has changed people, stop acting like things have changed massively when they haven't. There's more important things to complain about...like how Aetherflow and the card seals only work when you yourself have aggro, how AST heals need a buff, how WHM Afflatus spells should be oGCD. DPS is not worth complaining about on a healer, now or ever.

did you see how many skills we had in heavensward we complained in sb too but at least with things like miasma 2 edrain and 2 dots we still hit broil less than we do now

Healers adjust

yeah i havent really been playing this expansion as much as i thought i would. AST just isnt fun for me rn. Dancer's been fun but I like healing so even switching to dancer is a bit of a meh situation

I mean... Dancer can heal... Even if it annoys me because i feel like it's a slap on the face for AST since it's arguably a better heal than let's say... Horoscope.

I can't wait to be disappointed on 5.1 and recieve the MCH treatment.

Soo sorry that we don’t all see it from your utilitarian point of view but to us it meant something. Also as far as I can tell we have also been complaining about atherflow issues, card issues the loss of using the fairy separately and so many other things. The background I come from dps means a lot. For dps, healers, tanks, support classes. But since you enjoy the two button combo so much good for you. Wouldn’t life be great if we all had such simplistic pleasures.

I adjusted when they made cleric stance a cooldown. I adjusted when they nerfed Selene to the point she was barely worth using. They’ve been regularly making my job less fun one expansion at a time and I am done adjusting.

Hard disagree here. The Afflatus skills being GCD is fine (225 potency DPS on the move if nothing else, potentially weaving tool and healing as the cherry on top) once you get Misery. If they can expand the system so it does something besides insta-Cure 2 when you first get it, it'd have no problems.

Overly powerful oGCD's is part of why healing in this game is often trivial. Also, being mostly reliant on oGCD's is Scholar's thing.

Expand the lily system, don't keep chasing the oGCD's only design.

As to healer DPS, even one extra DoT is something. Shadowflare was something. Whatever requires additional attention and rewards you for doing so. There's no reason why we can't talk about the dull DPS/downtime kits while ALSO discussing things like how "in-combat only" restrictions are annoying.

This game has hella downtime, and unless that changes (it won't because then bad healers can't clear groups and good healers can't carry bad groups) or every healer gets buff/debuff kits for downtime (also seems unlikely given they've NEVER headed in the direction of GCD buffing spells since ARR Bard), DPS is what has to fill that downtime.

That downtime is why I'm a fan of giving WHM and SCH their own mechanic they can do during downtime, like how you can play with the cards on AST. A Mudra-ish Tactics system for SCH that has you do different debuffs to the enemy was one idea I had for SCH's downtime, though for WHM all I can think of is more utility type things, like giving them the ability to buff secondary stats using an Elemental system like how AST used to be able to do with the old cards.

Not unless they give AST back their actual card system rather than a clunky "try and layer on damage buffs" setup first.

Oh, we're able to complain about more than one thing at a time. Hearing stories of WHM being 3k DPS above AST means something is seriously screwed up.
