I mean, I'm glad they did. I just got my bingo!

The only reasonable answer here. No, tanks don't "have" to ask, but a second of courtesy isn't going to derail the dungeon, whereas a wipe will. Big pulls involve the entire party, so it shouldn't be a crazy suggestion to maybe check if everyone is on board with it.
OTOH this is mostly for levelling dungeons in which people are at-level, if everyone is synced down it doesn't matter so much. Still polite though.
The DPS aren't part of the equation of keeping the tank alive. So why would their input about large pulls be relevant?
If the DPS can't DPS enough and the group wipes because of that, then either try again or pull smaller. But I honestly don't recall ever hitting this particular wall while I was tanking.
Idk how you guys manage to pull wall to wall in this expansion i found myself struggling to survive pulls like this and i had multiple cases of wipes because of it, it is a lot more difficult to do so today and it feels weird.
Pls give us protect bac.
Protect really won't help much. Wall to wall pulls require the tank able to mitigate (and having the gear), the healer able to keep up, and the DPS capable and geared to burn the mobs before the tank runs out of CDs. I learned real quick a fresh dinged 80 drk and his dps pals don't do wall to wall too well in the expert roulette (although we got pretty close!).
IMO, majority rules.
Tank doesn't decide.
DPS doesn't decide.
Healer doesn't decide.
The group decides.
The worst case scenario is that one of the parties in the group isn't up for it, and a wipe happens. So.. what.. you all lose a bit of time?
