You assume by lowering the price enough people will actually buy it to make up the difference. Considering a price reduction on the $24 mounts to $5 would require nearly five times the amount of sales just to break even. It's very unlikely, which is why SE charges what they do. I do think the prices are a bit steep, especially on single character purchases but I elect not to buy them.

Joined the forum to throw a tantrum about something you want but don't like the price of?

Looks at WoW's cash shop ...

" Overpriced "
Oh boy, I hope you never play WoW and see the cost of theirs. I mean their level boost is like £40 which is completely absurd compared to FFXIV's.

Mogstation only have skip potions and cosmetics I don't get why ppl complain about it there no pay to win element or DLC to expand the story of the game.
-
There are a few items in the shop, it's neither in game nor advertised outside of the loginscreen. They are all optional and cosmetic only so give you no advantage over non paying players. We have enough cool mounts, glamour and emots in the game for free to chose from and SE does not use any lootbox mechanic or makes the items time limited so people feel pressured to spend money. It's a little goodie for people and given how often we can get sub days for free or even a full expension, like Heavensward at the moment, I think there is no reason to complain about it. If you think it's too expensive for you that a legitimate opinion to have but I think once in awhile I'll get myself a goodie because I like the design and feel like I support a game that is worth it.

On the other hand you have a expansion that cost 1/2 of what is blizzard asking for their expansion.

It could be worse. BDO's cash shop is ridiculous. It's a minimum of $30 for a single outfit.
