I would definitely recommend she goes with Archer/Bard. It’s very easy to pick up and learn, and the changes to it will not be incredibly significant going into 5.0—meaning that she won’t have to do any sort of massive relearning of its core functions. While it does get busier at the later levels, the change in pace is gradual enough that new players can easily adjust to it.
Rogue/Ninja is also fun, but it can be susceptible to latency when it comes to performing the correct mudras (I’ve been playing for coming up on 4 years now, and I get annoyed by the mudra lag still!). If she doesn’t want to get frustrated by that, it’s definitely a job I would recommend saving for after she’s gotten the hang of the basics in this game.
I would recommend Conjurer -> White Mage. Easy to play. Few buttons to press so she will not be so overwhelmed later on. Instant or almost instant queues for dungeons so she will not be frustrated by waiting on something she need to do to move on with the story and on top of that she will keep others alive! :)
Archer/Bard probably best bet
pretty simple job to start with
and if she wants to try Ninja later Bard shares accessories with Ninja so little easier to gear up
(also you still cant start with rogue/ninja)
Healing is the easiest role in early content, so I would suggest Conjurer. I've heard it's tricky on a controller though.
Thats your answer. You cant start as a rogue, so she should start as an archer. She'll have an easy starter class, the ranged point of view can help some people read the flow of battle better, and the game will allow her to experiment with any other classes she wants to once she gets her feet wet.
