I doubt that we'll hear blue mage during the live letter but it would be really interesting if they treated it as a job during the letter (showing it off and stuff). That'd be nice.

You're under the mistaken impression that giving everyone a different main stat means anything. The thing is, everyone stacks main stat. Therefore giving everyone just a universal main stat would change nothing for variety.

What it would change is we could group jobs by visual design rather than by main stat, which is a better way to distribute gear.



In re: tanks. Just give them a +vit%/-power% trait for being tanks and the stats will come out fine.

Dunno for sure, but Im worried for PLD most since they deal with managing both resources. But this could be a way to "fix" Clemency spam making it a shield gauge use ability

I can see them trying to make each class as 'easy' as possible, honestly. Bye bye any form of complexity.

Gear already is bland, consolidating the main stats is just making the names reflect the reality.

I can only give suggestions to jobs I consistently play so here goes my 2 Gil. (Opinion)

<<TANKS>>
-Remove damage stance. Increase potencies to compensate. Similar to pvp.
-Tank stance no longer reduces damage done. (Basically this means tanks are able to do their full damage at all times.)
-Warrior’s Fell Cleave and Inner Beast will share potencies; Steel Cyclone and Decimate will share potencies. Inner Beast and Steel Cyclone will still have a self heal.
-Paladin gets a gap closer and an Oath spender that does damage.

<<HEALERS>>
-Boss auto attacks should cause more damage. (It's weird to me that healers are spending more time dpsing than healing. It's also weird that trash pulls do more damage than bosses.)
-Scholars to have fairy glamours.

<<MELEE DPS>>
-Flank positionals replaced with rear. All weapon skills should have rear positional bonus damage.
-Alternative: DRG and MNK have only flanks while NIN and SAM have rear.

<<RANGED PHYSICAL>>
So you know how BRDs provide a +2% crit aura through their songs? All 3 ranged classes should have something like this:
-BRDs give 2% crit aura and a +10% direct hit buff cd.
-MCHs give 2% det aura and a +5% all stats buff cd.
-DNC give 2% haste aura and a....+10% increased limit break rate buff cd. (or something different)

<<CASTERS>>
-RDMs Jolt II becomes Impact while Impactful is active.
-SMNs have Egis of Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva for glamours. So that we have an Egi for each element. (Glamours, NOT "Summon IV" "Summon V" "Summon VI")
