Woah there. If you've used Steam to buy the game and you used those game keys then your account IS a Steam account, don't go refunding anything until you're sure it's NOT a Steam account.

What does the Mogstation say about your account? (see my pictures above)

If you bought the original a realm reborn ( FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition ) on steam then all other expansions also need to be bought that way, at least that is the way i remember it working.
Unless something have changed.

Same for the other way around if you bought from square enix.

Also steam does make it very clear.
