BRD: Is THM sub useful?

Why not? you can nuke , you can cure , you can sing and that's why you'll be welcome to every party.

Try think about BRD with 5 slot - Cure , Sacred Prism , Raise , Sanguine Rite ,
and last one maybe thunder or stone skin , since VIT is kinda make more effect on buff
ie. GLA use stone/protect you'll get a little bit more def than CON protect , but of course it's not increase m.def
this theory goes the same to stone skin as well

It's mean that you can also do dmg , you can cast stoneskin when WHM one is on cool down
and also can Sanguine Rite to all party members to restore mp along with the song

You know the most of ARC from my server put thunder on the bar when we're doing Moogle
cuz you can cast Thunder while animation of Wide Volley & Blood letter is still show
so after the animation of these 2 skill finish Thunder will be instantly executed.

Cure, Sacred Prism, Raise, Stoneskin, Sanguine Rite probably, maybe Protect?

No, just no.

THM sub really useful ? I don't think so.

Bard description says it can switch between offensive and defensive roles, so I would have expected the other sub (CNJ being the defensive one) to be an offensive one to help bow damage.

I can live with this tho, since Bards are only meant to keep my Black Mage refreshed :cool:

I can coun't more then 5 spells/abilites that BRD can choose from their THM and CNJ subs that will aid them greatly in a support role.


It's more about seing it as a whole, what abilities both classes can bring and pick the best suited ones for the task at hand.

You'd find that most all jobs have the same situation with what abilites they can choose from their assigned classes.

So we are left with Resonance and Necrogenenis.

Will BRD really be nuking with THM spell for HP back? It's equivalent to using Second Wind, so I could see it as useful as an emergency heal.

That's interesting. If BRD in fact has high mage oriented stats [PIE, MND, INT] as you have mentioned then perhaps the class is optimized for THM offensive magic afterall. It is weird, but SE seems to be breaking the mold anyways. Where did you get that information? I would like to see it myself so that I may show my friend. :)

So does this mean that BRD will be casting stoneskin and protect, more than a WHM ?

I mean they are the buff class right ? :P

And Sanguine Rite, arguably the most useful of the Thaum cross-class spells.

Guess they could be casting that on the tank seeing as how their class role is bolstering the party. Point noted.

EDIT: Just realized though... BLM / THM has a trait that gives damage mitigation to SR does it not? If so I don't see why the BRD would be using SR on the tank unless you did not have a BLM in the party.

Even tho arc has high mage stats it doesn't have more int than a pgl and pgl fails @ nuking still.
