Extremely High GPU Temperatures:

Fullscreen definately helps a bit (maybe 5-8%). Limiting frame rate to 30 helps alot but fast movements won't be as smooth anymore.
Getting a 3rd party heatsink is definately a must for highend CPUs. The stock fans are always cheap, small and loud. Don't forget to check if the heatsink you want fits into your case 'cause some are really big. With HAF this shouldn't be an issue though.
The optimal solution would obviously be watercooling, but not everyone has 200-300 bucks loose :P

Beside cooling more your hardware the aftermarket cooler will lower the noise you pc make. I have this PC and is near silent every moment, on idle or full load.

My most loud part is my two WD black 640gb working on a raid 0. I combat it a little disabling the paging file. Also i order a Sapphire 7950 OC edition (that the coolers is really quiet) and i'm waiting to get it.

The CPU is on idle at 40°c and un full load gets to 50°c tops. The GPU on idle is 35°c and on full load tops at 45°c.

It looked fairly sturdy and reviews seemed good..didn't think I would need to use any sort of aftermarket cooling...and I had this card for less than 2 months (had to replace a dying 6850 than ran out of warranty/RMA benefits...) so I don't *think* it's a hardware defect. For what it's worth, this is the only game that comes close to getting dangerously high temperatures.

As for whoever mentioned hot CPU temps, I'm using a CM Hyper 212+ with artic silver 5 as my thermal paste. It's been pretty reliable so far and I believe you can get that heatsink fairly cheap nowadays with the Evo taking over as the main budget-line-product (I think).

If you have some AC5 left what you can do is take of the VGA cooler, clean GPU and the mems, put some AC5 and set the cooler back. The factory paste is not that good as the AC5, you should get 10~°c less of temp.

Looking at the exact same heatsink as the CM Hyper 212+ so hopefully will take care of things. Hope your GPU issues come to a resolve as well.

As far as water cooling, cant dish out that much yet haha.

80°C and more is quiet hot for the 560ti and while its within the specifications it wont actually extent your cards lifetime. The downside of non-exhaust cooling solutions is they're heating up your case much more than reference design cards. You really rely on a good airflow in your case else hot air might get stuck and pulled over and over again by the card's fans.

As for redoing TIM, it helps sometimes but don't expect a miracle. 2-3°C if anything at all. Be careful with Arctic Silver 5 on GPU's as it is conductive and it also has an extremely long cure time. The best compound for graphic cards is IC Diamond.

That is my case. I'll say it's certainly nothing short of special, although I really just salvaged it from a previous build and used it as I ran low on money when I was building my new computer. I'm really hopeful that a good quality case will drop the temp's tremendously or at least enough where I don't have to worry about RMAing the GPU back to EVGA within the next 4-6 months.

I don't see why you would need a new one tbh; Equip that one with enough (silent) fans and it's good to go. Put one on the left side blowing air onto your GPU (or alternatively, blowing the air out of the case, test what works better), 2 to blow the air out on top and one taking air in at the front, that should reduce the temps already.

It really depends on how your case is positioned though, in my case there is little space on the sides and at the back, so most air has to be transported out of the top of the case

If you're using MSI Afterburner click off the Auto on the fan and move it up by 10% and it should cool your GPU by a lot. The game engine is just hard on our GPU's. This is the only game I have my GPU go over 75c and that I have to control the fan.

I added a zalman cooler on my graphic card because my card used to hit the 90's too

have a watercooling complete for cpu and gpu but i am too lazy to install it :P , got it once for free from someone
