Give the possible Eureka 5.X its own weapon, and separate Relic from it

Personally, I'd be on the boat of chosing. I absolutely hated the old form or relic farming but enjoyed this way much more. I only completed a single hw weapon and got arr weapon about 3/4ths done. I've always disliked dungeon farming. If I can get everything from the new eureka zones for myself while others can also having the mats be gathered outside of eureka in other methods, im fine.

As long as I can target a certain substat I'm fine. I hate when I have it close to the stats I want and then suddenly +240 spellspeed on a rdm weapon and now it won't roll off.

You've answered your own question. We can't have both because people will just flock to whichever one they perceive to be easiest and ignore the other.

Just as a tangent; mashing Eureka, Deep Dungeon and maybe a dash of Aquapolis/canals together would be pretty great.

How do we know the Eureka stages will be replicated again in 5.0? SE may opt to go back to some previous methods or create new ones, unless they have stated otherwise.

They've stated they're doing 'Eureka-like' content in 5.0, which could mean almost anything to be honest.

Well that could be concerning. Did they say it would be linked to the new relic or no? Either we get optional Eureka content which could die as quick as Diadem or they lock relic phases in it again, not sure which is the better choice honestly...

They mentioned “exploration content, similar to erueka” not Eureka part II. But I digress the relics look horrible, some Trial weapons could fit better as the relic weapon than most of them, and in SCH and SMN case the previous weapons looked better than the final one. Erueka is very underwhelming and relic grind could use some tweaks like how light farming is a massive waste of time, but hopefully they never lock out the relic in a public instance like this again, I legit have to devote a large amount of time instead of a few objectives solo today then continue MSQ or POTD or FC stuff

I also read somewhere there were thinking about doing some change to diadem for 5.X (an interview with Yoshida unsure which one).

Personally I will be totally ok with them doing equipment and weapon for eureka like content which give specific boost for eureka area like we currently have with +2 version which grant elemental bonus. I just hope if they do this that those will be usefull right at the beginning and not only near end of expansion when you did not bother to get some at the use for those specific item (cassie earing, belt, additional stone) seems useless and not worth the effort.

I really hope that if we got content like eureka in 5.0 that BA like content will be add right from the beginning with multiple ways to get stuff for it like : increase eureka armor/weapon, accessory drop from FATE/bunny (not with a 0,05% drop rate please), drop from BA (like the chest part).

Finally we could have a progression gearing specific to eureka with his final weapon and a separate progression gearing for non eureka content (this gear can be use for BA but less usefull than specific eureka stuff) with possibly a relic in the old way to repopulate DF (all people in eureka are people not in DF, and with the datacenter separation DF may be longer to proc)

Well, the consensus seems to be (even among people that still don't like it) that Eureka has gotten better over time. Assuming they take what they learned in to 5.0 then it should be at least decent content.

You also have the tome weapon, on par or better than both the relic and the primal weapon for almost the whole expansion life cycle, which is the weapon you can obtain by doing instances, hunts, beast quests, Eureka, Deep Dungeon, and probably several others means, with an additionnal requirement for normal raids, with artificial time gates so that you don't have to use the most efficient method...does this sound familiar ?

I understand that complain...that could be very well solved by tying the Relic to the story of the zone instead of separating it. In an alternate universe, we could have had our first glimpse of Ivalice back in 2.x, where we could have roamed that land to uncover the Zodiac Brave story and reclaim the weapons of those past heroes on our way to defeat Ultima again.

So, from my PoV, as long as people have other weapons at their disposal, keep the next upgradable weapon in the next exploration content, but make it more central lorewise.

That's it ! Make the next zones a shout-out to Eos where you need to collect somes weapons from the ancient kings. They could even use a similar topography and separate the content into Leide, Duscae and Cleigne.

I think an alternative way to get the relic weapon would be possible, similar to how people these days use Eureka opposed to running roulettes for tomes. At the very least it will give people options, and let you shake it up a bit while you're grinding. Kind of like how a lot of people, instead of grinding ARF for forever, got into hunts.
Then they can frame it like "The House will be more than happy to provide you with the materials Gerolt needs, Adventurer... but if you for some reason find our reasonable prices to be out of your reach, you can always test yourself and go get the materials yourself..." cue the new Eureka area.
What it does mean however that it will be limited more to Diadem-likeness which actually I'm pretty ok with. Because part of the major flaw of Eureka is having to progress, only to reset constantly. Having the one zone in it means any progress made is kept upon future revisits.
