What would you like to see in the 5.0 healer quest-lines?

Whm: Help guide an elemental to be able to protect its home

Sch: go into nym's past how it came about learning its pool of magic and the fairy's origin bonus points if includes the pixies

Ast: Focus back on Leveva and the sharlayan side of astromancy how does the minor arcana interact with the major arcana within its teachings any other star constelations that might hold power for as ast?

Hm that still needs some context since Surito becomes overtly concerned that we would turn into tonberries after coming in contact with the source of the disease. Lore wise we do know how faeries originated. They were initially familiars used as messengers between ships. It was only after their ability to heal was discovered that the practice of Nymian arcanima changed into a healer's position. Even the marauders in one of the previous questlines questioned whether or not the Faeries were tied to tonberries. Since they're literally the source of our healing I doubt they would also be the real source of the disease.

Something that is different from previous. As a WHM, no, I don't want more rage-tame, 'this tree/elemental is mad', or angsty pre-teens trying to find themselves. As an AST, no, I don't want to have to run from one corner of Kugane to another to speak to some pleb about how using an AST shield on a rune is the best thing since Eorzean bread. As a SCH... No idea, not levelling that beyond 30 unless the mood takes me.

In short, break the normal formula now that we're hitting Shadowbringers > something darker and less shmaltzy that questions the light we are wielding. Actually heal some legitimate devastation in the face of an impending cataclysm, or using our power to remedy some of the pain wrought by the war with the empire. Something appropriate. If it's going to be more goody-two-shoes or more all-out tree-hugging, I'm going to skip dialogue and cut-scenes and focus on just unlocking new skills rather than any kind of lore gratification. I don't dislike that sort of thing - it just gets overbearing when they all boil down to the same thing over and over. Darker expansion, darker themes. Being a Healer doesn't have to always be about shiny-shiny-feel-good. Something needs to be harmed in order to heal, after all.

In general, i wouldn't be opposed to a questline that made you use your abilities to solve a problem. Not so much "heal person X" but use your knockback spell to Drive back enemy forces, or Use your area Damage over time spell to whittle away at these stones."cryptic" clues, which to anyone who knows the job, would understand, but someone who just picks the job up would need to invest a little thought into.

As for White mage, we could help build something with our Stone and water spells making a mud Structure or sorts to help a beastmen tribe or something.

Its kinda out there, but breaks away from the mold a bit.

WHM: A reference to the all WHM run of FFI, totally recking undead and Chaos.

It's like a super famous meme, maybe I missed it, but I don't remember a reference.

SCH: Setting up a fancy school, where I get to be headmistress and wear a librarian outfit with stern megane.

AST: Meh, I don't play it.

DNC: A CS where I save somebody by kicking them back to life with my sick dance moves.
