I'm still hoping they will reveal male viera in JP fan fest.

There's so much weirdness going down in this expansion, that I don't see how it could possibly fit into the world we know. My guess is we're going to the First world to help save it.
I really don't know how to feel about the next 24-man being a crossover. Like, a whole alliance raid series? How exactly are they going to fit Automata of all things into Hydaelyn? I was excited to see that Yoko Taro would be involved, but man, seeing the whole Nier Automata thing just brought me down hard. At least Gunbreaker has a decent aesthetic going for it and looks like it might be fun.
ummm....viera is not a new race cuz they've been there way before XIV was a thing and considering the suggestive things u can dress a female miqo'te in the game already I dunno why it took vierra for u to call the devs tonedeaf
Also according to the lore of Ivalice(which is a series of FF games that came out way before XIV) is a female only race that lives away from civilization(think the Amazonesses) and they literally copied that as it is for the Ivalice Raids in XIV when Fran from FFXII was included
The final boss of the final raid is going to be a rhythm game. And the camera man is going to get board and wonder off and start zooming in on random stuff. And if one person messes up once, we have to restart the fight.
Considering how prominent automatons(with some even gaining free will) and advanced technology(albeit using ceruleum) are even in modern Eorzea, and with whatever weird dimension hopping is going on in the main story, I think Automata could actually fit well enough.
That said, expect the unexpected.

You're talking to a huge fan of the Ivalice games. I'm well aware that they're not a new race - though there was no necessity for the restrictive elements to be fully embraced when tweaking them to fit FFXIV. I also stated that I have no issue with outright fan service when it involves equality so I'm going to brush aside the quip about female Miqo'te since it's irrelevant to my previous points.
It's a bitter disappointment considering how often male characters are overlooked in this game, but that particular discussion is better suited to the General Discussion board rather than here.
Something I was wondering: does Thancred only know her as "Minfilia", or should he be calling her "Ascilia"?
Based on possibly very inaccurate impressions of how the characters usually speak, Matoy'shtola sounds more like Y'shtola in her speech patterns, as opposed to the more crochety Matoya. But Urianger sounds pretty serious when he calls her "Master Matoya", as opposed to some (uncharacteristic) snark about how Y'shtola is becoming as crochety as her old teacher.
