They legitimately blamed a bug on that?

A couple years back, the NA data centers--not any of the other ones that I'm aware of--kept going down suddenly. The issue arose, out of nowhere, because of a fishing node in Outer La Noscea that is no longer there, but was totally there without issue the years prior. Once the fishing hole was removed, the sudden shutdowns ceased.
It would be like if a new version of FFVI came out, but sitting down in the auction house caused the world to end, scene and all, followed by the game stopping all functionality. SE's approach here would have been like removing the AH rather than finding whatever caused the bug.
