I understand what you're saying, I just meant that for those who would only find the newer content enjoyable, they don't have an option to try the game like the ones who would find 1-35 enjoyable but the reasons are understandable why since it is in the end a sub game and not all should be able to try it in its core content regardless of who it may be but it would be nice though if a trial of certain jobs in the latest content is available for a try for certain individuals, like how about this?
You level the character until 35, if you still find the game boring or not worth your monthly subscription then with this account after your 35th level, have a one time try of a single job at 70 in let's say a room where you can hit a dummy or kill 5 mobs so you can get a feel of what your job actually is at 70, which is the real content since it's where you end up being in forever, just a thought
And as for 80% of the content, I don't understand what you mean

If you mean only the leveling experience from 1-60, I did say that I leveled 1-60 and saw most of the quests which is the reason for why I no longer want to be in there anymore unless I want to experience some of it again, which I also can by creating another new character but to me is a bad idea in this game and the game is huge and that's definitely not 80% of it
The buying of potions is cause:
I can't do the MSQ again or I don't want to do it in the future, I can't do the side story quests again cause they are completed once, I don't want to spam dungeons I've already seen many times before and I don't want to spam the same dungeon PotD over and over again
I said story is the only part I enjoy in leveling and I did mention that in my first post, that the only reason I would go through it again is cause I want to experience it again but if I don't feel like it then I won't go through it ^^
I much prefer to level via standard dungeons.
Sure, you can argue the dummies are practice enough, But speaking as a BLM (that which I am presently fixated on), No amount of dummy practice teaches you how to maintain your rotation while avoiding mechanics designed specifically to disrupt it.
Its one thing to simply know which buttons to press in which order, But learning the whens and whys of all your skills in a live environment is best taught in dungeons.

I started in ARR with a group of friends who played 1.0. Began as ACN and switched to Monk around level 30. While leveling that Monk (which wound up my main through all of ARR) I never once felt that it wasn't fun, even when I only had 4 buttons. Looking ahead and seeing the skills that were coming and trying to figure out how I would fit those into the rotation i'd already established was part of what got me hooked.
Coming from max skills down to 10% of your skills does indeed feel boring in comparison, But since a fresh player wont have that experience yet, they're less likely to feel bored at lower levels.
I bought a potion for my new main because I already knew the job. I might do it again if I want another healer.
Worst case scenario: You pay money for the potion and then you don't like the job at all.
And honestly, it doesn't take that long. You get hugh xp-boost if you've already leveled up one character and with the boni from the dailys you are at level 60 in no time.
Buy the boosts. I quit playing Path of Exile after 9 months because they didn't have this. After going from level 6 to 26 with only Impulse Drive on my 'goony, I vowed that never again do I want to have to go through that. And as far as "Yeah, but you don't get enough of a chance to learn to play your class then" goes, well, that's what training dummies are for. And hunts. And beast tribe quests. And duty roulettes (although I like to at least be competent with my class before I hit these, so I'm not burdening the other guys). And Heaven-on-High........
Secondly, I always try to craft all my own gear whenever I can. I don't rely on drops for my gearing up. So it's already going to take me at least twice as long to level. I sure as hell don't need it to be any longer than that.
It is really easy to get to 50, and even 60 with a single class. I don't know a whole lot about the trial version of the game, but if it were up to me I would allow the trial player to obtain level 50. I would even go further and allow them to complete all of 2.0. We are two expansions in now, and levels 1-35 I wouldn't even call the growth phase of the class; more like the 'budding' phase. They should be able to experience an 8-man trial at the very least.
Crafting, gathering, big fishing, hunts, EX trials mount farming, PotD/HoH/Treasure dungeons, chocobo breeding/squadron raising, sightseeing log, triple triad (card collecting), gardening, PvP, ARR/HW relic weapons, housing, quest chains like Post Moogle or Hildibrand... I'm sure I missed some lol, but you can include leveling in there too. But I do the majority of these things, and find them all very enjoyable otherwise I wouldn't do them.Quote:

Again, you don't need to justify buying the potions. I can't sit here and tell how to have fun in this game while getting your money's worth. That is for you to determine. However, those who are not interested in the activities I listed above don't have a whole lot to keep them busy once they've reached max level because endgame represents very little of the game's overall content, but it also represents the majority of the relevant content, so I understand where you are coming from.Quote:
