FPS Drops over time, especially after instanced duties.

Hi,

I'm having the same thing. When I start up the game it's fine but as soon as I log into a character my FPS drops to 9 or 10. I have tried reinstalling FFXIV multiple times now, reinstalled my drivers and even did a laptop reset but nothing so far seems to work. I never had a problem like this until yesterday, on Friday the game still worked fine. When playing other games no noticeable drops in the FPS happened.

I seem to have found my culprit, the newest driver made all my games in fact massively drop in FPS

Hi, after latest nVidia drivers, problem seem go solved, still if occur i post it here. And i tried all thing from check temperature CPU, GPU and HDD, also check load on all tree, nothing unusual. And during FPS drop i mined near Camp Bronze Lake, after drop stop i went to potd, and after return to inn room, another FPS drop to 9 FPS. Maybe problem was with nVidia drivers from 26.11.2018.

Even after installing the latest nvidia driver update, 417.22, I am still getting FPS drops after doing a few instanced duties and it still gets worse over time.

I apologize for the delay in my response to this issue. Have you tried rolling back the drivers or doing a cleanboot? I also suggest disabling full screen mode by doing the following:

- Right click the launcher and select "Properties"
- Select "Compatible" and then check "Disable full screen"

Tested rolling back nvidia drivers, doing a clean boot and disabling full screen mode. FPS still drops after a few instanced duties.

Have you tried changing the compatibility mode? If not, please do so by going to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7". Also does the FPS drop when the game is ran on DirectX 9 mode? Try switching to DirectX 9 by selecting the ‘Config’ button on the launcher.

In DirectX 9 mode, my performance is terrible from the start. In the same scene, I get 70fps at the lowest graphics settings in DX9 upon logging in, as opposed to 142fps capped at maximum graphics settings in DX11.

In compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows 8, FPS still drops over time.

If you have not done so already, please try a cleanboot. This can be done by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
