so when you zoom in, you see the biggest target is not francfort, more scandinavian countries (forgot which is who sorry)
So could see other services getting matter from this ddos no?
Yeah, it was affecting FFXI and Assassin's Creed Odyssey as well. Other services are likely impacted, but depending on the service, it can be tough to determine how affected they are. In services like youtube or netflix, their media is duplicated accross multiple physical locations to be served to users using a Content Delivery Network. This ensures that if one server goes down, another can just pick up the slack to server that static media. For a game server, that's not an option because our data is constantly changing and can't be duplicated without significant overhead.
Actually, they can temporarily suspend the housing demolition timer until this is resolved and/or improved. Keeping it up while some people can't log in when they get home (and not due to their own fault) is like saying "we don't care, but keep paying please". And no, I'm not affected by the timer myself, but I still think that it would be a good idea to do that, especially when this is not an issue that has been happening for a couple of days.
Of course, they are under no obligation to do that, but showing that you value your customers is always a good idea. 2013's SE would understand/care about this.
You mean like this?! Sure, the reason stated is different and it happened after some chunk of days, but hey. It was possible to log in for a brief time here or there. Stopping auto demolition should not be impossible even for people with little time. So if the biggest attacks with most effect happened only after they did already stop the auto-demolition for a different reason, they wouldn't really add a notice about that, would they?!
