Ragnarok: Only EU?

I know too what you want to say, but some people, like me, only have bonds with my linkshell members, so we are moving to a better timezone community. I know what u guys want, but what if in a future, (not descarted by SE) because PvP take some consistance in the game, they move some servers to EU and NA? is no fair to fight a japanese with 10 ping with 300 ping. So then, with stronger bonds, people who like PvP have to stay on server where PvP is not fair.

That is one of my points to change to a timezone server. One of lots.

I think they're going to fix latency problem in the future. On FFXI it wasn't a big difference. Also, you could just don't fight with a JP if you don't want to? If you do PvP on EU sweet time there will be low amount of JP people.

Also, i don't see a good thing having servers on NA and EU. It will fuck communities, NA people will move to NA servers, same as EU and then servers will be underpopulated on others time.

The other issue is that if it's known that the server may close people won't want to move to it in case it does - I for one wouldn't want to risk losing my character name (not that its likely) by moving to a server that may move and force me to chose yet another server a couple of months down the line.

Also although some people will chose to move to new servers I would imagine most people will just stick with the default migration server so moving means losing people on your friends list. Why would I chose to move to Ragnorok and lose my friends list if I'll end up on Balmung anyway in a couple of months but missing my friends list and risking having to change character name?

I think having region specific servers is binary, either you have dedicated regional servers or you don't; go the WoW route of servers restricted to a region or the XI route of everyone plays with everyone, let the community sort the rest out - did square make Belsaid the RP server? No, the community did, and I think the community is happy to manage regionalisation as well.

i don't see why NA/JP wouldn't move to ragnarok.apperantly i already know of many going to move there.
there are various reasons for them.most of them i hear are about having a fresh server to start with.
some are saying they want to start a new community on ragnarok before 2.0 hits.
but let's be honest.most opinions will never be heard, because of most players just not using any kind of fansite/offical forums.

the future of ragnarok is totally up to the players joining it, and actually i don't see it failing.i allready know from over 20 ppl on my server that will move.and there is probably many others that i don't know of.and that doesn't only concern my server.

only time will tell how ragnarok will do.and still in worst case we can change servers or get merged with another.
to me for example it's only important to move to a server with a stronger EU community.because on my current server there simply doesn't exist a real EU community.

all predictions.i think ragnarok will do fine :)

Thats not entirely true, they said they may do this, the other option is to have a second chance for people to transfer from world 1-9 to 10.

I am on the fence with world 10 and I imagine a lot of people are also, nobody wants to move to a world with a low population.
The biggest issue with this server is making people feel as if its worth moving there, many EU players I speak to on Lindblum aren't considering it due to low population and a small English speaking community, plus having to leave friends behind.

I'm sure we will see US players on there, especially ones who play during GMT, I won't miss the JP community though as most of my experiences have been quit bad with them both in this game and FFXI.

Edit:- I forgot to mention that Wakfu had an EU server and the French were pretty damn rude and demanded everyone speak French so I hope it doesn't turn out like that. (it was later remedied by adding a second international server)

Probably but I'm also partially just trying to persuade myself as Squeenix has made my life difficult by giving me choice in the matter, I would have been happy if they'd just said 'your server is merging with Besaid to become Balmung' but by giving me choice I am kind of stuck.

Move to Ragnorok or stick with Balmung? I primarily solo and the few people on my friends list I speak to very rarely so it's not like I'm glued to a community but at the same time I am used to the same names as I run around and it'd be weird to see someone with the same name and not know if it was the same person - perhaps I'm just too sentimental about it - ah well perhaps I should move to Ragnorok entirely based on it has a cooler name.

Are you an EU player?

I'm doubtful it will be a success but I have nothing to lose by giving it a try. I would prefer a mixed server but there's no EU linkshells on Wutai so there's no point staying with those lot.
