Let's be real. If it happens in a cutscene, the Warrior of Light will just snarl and look angry while SOMEONE ELSE beats up the NPC.

Idk, I find that face option the OP uses far more annoying than Ramza...
A minor inconvenience where an NPC mocks you, outright calling you a source of mirth, then sends you on a prolonged quest to do something wholly unrelated to the Raid story is a bit annoying.
You can send me the money for a Fantasia anytime then.
In before someone wants to punch Alphinaud.
......
.....I want to punch Alphinaud.
I actually don't mind Alphinaud. At least, not now. In ARR, he was a little grating.
I suppose I could see how someone might find him a tad much, though, given that he's basically the main character of XIV while the WoL is just kind of his friend who is really good at solving impediments to peace treaties with violence.
Yotsuyu's whole family. Everybody in Othard may call her a monster but her family were the real ones. I wanted to punch them all so badly during each and every single time they were shown in the MSQ and especially at the end of the Tsukuyomi fight. Although, I wanted to punch my WoL way more at the time because of what she DIDN'T do for someone praised so much as a hero you'd EXPECT them to do!!! God, I hate those moments when the hero/main protagonist does that in contrast to whom they are; it pisses me off to no end!
I'm at the other end of the spectrum with Yotsuyu's family. Yes, they were monsters, but they were so over-the-top, mustache-twirlingly villainous that it was hard to take them seriously (especially her "dad's" final scene with her just shattered any shred of suspension of disbelief I had left- won't say more than that because spoilers.) SE's writing for them was so heavy handed and they were so obviously desperate for us to hate them that I actually just kind of shut down toward them emotionally. Asahi was slightly better, but the only thing I wanted to do every time her parents were on screen was roll my eyes.
Edit: And slightly more off topic- I would love for there to be more options for our PCs in both verbal responses and actions. But, in the particular case that you mentioned, I disagree with your sentiment that the WoL was acting out of character. I get that you have a different feel for your character and his/her motivations and it would be awesome to be able to express that, but for me personally, that cutscene was spot-on. I guess my point being that outside of actually having options for responses that players can select from (which producing cutscenes for would probably be prohibitively expensive) there is no way that SE can write the WoL in such a way that would please everyone simultaneously.
I wanna punch Thancred for hitting that poor Fortemps kid, then I want to punch my character for being 100% ok with it.
I agree, they just seemed so over-the-top harsh and mindlessly cruel that it didn't seem convincing.
I feel like as much as Asahi was awful and a punch would have been well-deserved, that's exactly what he was trying to make us do the whole time (so he could then accuse us of attacking an ambassador), and we never gave him the satisfaction of succeeding at it.
I can't remember the exact details of the conversation, but I think Emmanellain was a bit hysterical at that point? Whether Thancred should have done it or not (or just told him off without actually hitting him - which may not have had the same impact, as it were), it was part of Emm's "turning point" where he started to take more responsibility for his actions.
I'm also not sure if we were okay with it, so much as it caught us by surprise as well, and we didn't want to intervene. Or there just wasn't much point to intervening after Thancred had already hit him. He deserved the talking-to. He'd been prettymuch an irresponsible idiot all through the story up to that point.
I think I need to watch this bit again. The fragmented gameplay and cutscene storytelling makes it harder to go back over the story though.
