The ears are a giveaway, the males have darker tipped ears.
If you know that and you aren't wearing headgear, you can tell easily enough.

A former guildmate of mine made the mistake of calling me a cute little boy. I bit him.
You can easily tell a lalafell's gender by their idle poses... *sigh*
That aside, though, Asahi's hairstyle is short and and not overly cute, wearable by both genders, it would be a fitting pick.
Asahi & Pipin's hair are perfect for gender bending Lalafells. Wear plain robes, too. Totally mess with people like that. Also, change their name to Pat, Terry, Kelly, Stacy, Tracy, Alex or Chris. These are very gender neutral and will complete the mindfuck!
I always thought they should've given the females prominent boobs like the rest of the races to prevent this, but then again, it's fun messing with people and make them guess.

I think this hairstyle is a good choice for a gender neutral/fluid character.

So is this one!
In the end; though, lalafell are pretty easy to make gender neutral in appearance. Just spend a bit of time playing around with character generator.
One thing of note, lalafell appear to have the same base model. So, I don't feel there will be much difference between which gender you choose except for the character's stance and default dances.
Also, what your character wears is a big part of appearing gender neutral. Robes which cover you head to feet, metal armor with thigh high boots, etc... all can hide what a character's the character's born gender is.
Have fun with it!
