Just give us new server names

I disagree.
But that is my right.

Well the whole point is so that people can choose their servers by name, not by random chance. By changing the server names, whole servers would be less likely to move together which is exactly what SE is trying to prevent. Hidden names work for this, but it sucks for those of us that choose our servers for their names.

It may not mean much to you, but some people do care.

Ah! Didn't see this topic or I woulda destroyed half of mine. Transit and work at such an interesting time.

Since i don't think SE as a company could possibly go back on their decision to merge this way now that they have announced it, the best way to fix this biggest yet deboccle of FFXIV would be to name the servers ahead of time anyways.
Then all the (example) Lindblum players will flock to the new Lindblum except those who CHOOSE NOT TO.
