Where is the "never before seen content"?

If you're waiting for the "never before seen content" for FFXIV from Yoshi-Pee...I wouldn't hold your breath. What's considered "new content" in this game is just rehashed old content but with a fresh coat of paint/bland story with a hint of meh side quests. This is what happens when you have a themepark WoW clone with a FF title. Just call this game WoW 2.0 and give the FF title to a new MMO that lives up to the standards FFXI set for story, content, community and exploration. Yoshi-Pees can make as many expansions as he wants, but if each expansion just ends up being a big patch with old content disguised as something new then it's not worth the price+monthly fee we pay to play. Smart players will stop playing and move on to something better.



I'll be blunt here. Unless Yoshi-Peeses breaks away from his safety spoon and makes actual NEW content with soul,then this game isn't gonna last as long as FFXI.

I do not think it was ever seen before, reskining the original expansion twice while repeating a treadmill every 2 months? or so for years. I guess he meant that.

Honestly, this is true of 90% of all games and genres. Its actually pretty rare for any genre to have something that makes a huge unique hit. And when it does, it redefines the genre. Could be overdue for that now for MMOs broadly, but probably best not to hold your breath.

Are you sure he said "never before seen" and not "never to be seen"?

Welcome to every video game ever. This has been said in sonic games, street fighter games, tera, wow, bns, gw2 the list goes on. Most companies play it safe cause who wants to lose over 80% of a working playerbase cause you wanted something untested. Every company does this to an extent.

Most people get that, the issue is "We are releasing something never been seen in a MMO" or whatever the claim is, and it is just a reskin what you did before, with nothing new about it. At some point it feels like this:

This is why over-hype is so dangerous. What is going to happen in the distant future if this becomes more common? over-hype after over-hype, after over-hype? It may lead to a new game crash if things keep getting worse and down this road.

Might be guys wearing bunny outfit. New seen that before it was added.

i think was the BARD play instrument thing, that thing is kinda unique...

How quickly people forget about Final Fantasxy XIV 1.0. It's like this game didn't almost completely fail, got saved and follows a model that continues to prove to be successful.
