That was then, this is now. If you're friend doesn't want to spend 19.99, then lend it to him. Or go back to your gamestop and buy your friend a copy as a gift. I would add that SE got burned pretty bad when they added free trials to XI. Once they started them RMT flooded into the game and /tell spammed.

It was funny seeing how long it took the STF to shut down each spammer. They would go through names alphabetically, so when one of your linkshell friends whose name started with 'A' got one, you coudl see how far through the rest of the linkshell they got before they got shutdown.

Also, specificwords used to cause the /tell to not go through (brogame.com or similar). so they woudl substitute other letters in then include a 'key' at the end. After a few iterations, the /tells used to look like advanced algebra.

The buddy pass is worth $20.00 at this point. I'm not sure why SE did it this way, but there's a lot of folks out there with their CEs, unused buddy passes, and have stopped playing the game (and do not keep up with forums so unlikely to check here).

Would there be a way to get it from you?

And also, to Fiosha and Shneibel, those codes were meant to be given away for free, not to be sold for personal profit, so in turn that could be a breach in the terms of contract/use if someone was to do that. If SE didn't want to give the "game away for free" they would not have made those passes :(

I think you may have faster.results in buying a new copy.

The Buddy Pass is literally a full copy, so it's like we're buying it for you. I think this is why you'll find no one here will part with it.

They're holding on in case they can get one of their friends to play.

It's actually like a 30 day trial of the game that just so happens to come with the game. As stated before though, why would anyone want to go out and spend money on something that they knew they didn't like when it first came out. It's completely reasonable that he doesn't wanna spend money on this until he plays to see it changed since when he played it back when it came out it was poop. The buddy passes are just that though, they are not meant to be resold for a personal profit but to be given away for people to play the game with. SE would not have made them if this was not the case.

It's an amazing trial package, pretty sure no one who bought the CE ever expected it.

There's a very low chance you'll find one here, since the folks are holding onto their buddy passes for their friends when they begin to show interest.

If there were a way to hunt down a husband/wife duo that both bought CEs or an unsubscriber that bought CE, both of which are many, but wouldn't be able to talk to them if they don't check any FF forums.
