Patch 4.3-4.3X Game Play Feedback

I feel more interested in attempting HoH solo then PotD solo between it being shorter and there seemingly not being any bosses that will wall anything other then a RDM this time around (Partly because you can just use Odin to one-shot a boss you hate if you get your hands on his magicite).

What grinds my gears the most is that there is always this group of players that conplains if content is done in lessthan a week and thus too easy but if anything has difficulty of O2S (yes the meatball) and beyond, which can be considered challenging, they throw a hissy fit because content actually requires them to not screw up for once and isnt catered to casuals.

At least they patched it once they found the fix. Back when I played GW2, there was a game breaking bug, and the devs found a fix for it very quickly, and even posted on their forums they had the fix ready. They just don't do out of band maintenance, so the fix wasn't implemented for a month.

People on the forums love to complain when things are broken, and then they complain just as much when maintenance is scheduled to fix them.

I think the complaints are more so about the fact that this content was delayed for at least six weeks (according to the developers, HoH was done prior to 4.3 proper, but they didn’t want to implement it until 4.35 because “too much content in 4.3, don’t want to overwhelm people”), and there was a still a bug that was critical enough to demand the new content be shut down for 6 hours not even 24 hours after its delayed release, and then the servers in their entirety for a couple more after HoH had already been taken offline because they couldn’t fix it solely with the content itself being suspended.

This could also be exaserbated by the fact that Stormblood has appeared to have more emergency maintenances than any other expansion, barring early days of ARR. I don’t recall each patch of Heavensward requiring an emergency maintenance, but that seems to be a trend during Stormblood. All I can hope is that they get things together so that this doesn’t continue to persist for the rest of the expansion. Or, heaven forbid, into 5.0.

Well, PotD and Eureka is definitely boring for a good chunk of players, but it’s fun enough that enthusiasts are happy to stick with it. Even then, people have been wanting an up to date PotD, and HoH delivers just that, so I think it’s a success.

I think the rest of 4.3 content has been amazing though. Ridorana, while familiar, has been a lot of fun (doing Heated Dispose never gets old), Swallow’s Compass introduced some interesting mechanics, UwU has been a ton of fun to prog and provided a good challenge for those going for World first and the 4.3 trial was absolutely gorgeous and really well executed. Not to mention the new frontline rotation and Raid Roulette has breathed new life into some older content for me. So all in all, I’ve been really happy with this patch.

These threads always surprise me. This is exactly how the game has worked for a couple years now. I don't know why anyone is acting surprised at this point. If it's not your cup of tea, the door's right there.

I agree with the OP that I have very little to actually do, but I've said the same thing a couple weeks after every major patch for a while now. This isn't specific to 4.3x, and I don't expect the pace of things to change, so I accept it.

Eureka Pagos will need something to keep people coming back aside relics. Eureka (the first one) is finally dying after a few months and it had success despite the complaints, it lasted longer than Diadem but most who wanted to start relics have what they need. It used to be a good way to cap out tomes much faster, but HoH has taken that torch now. I mean sure you could slap a few new mounts, glamour items, bardings, materia, etc. Maybe put those super rare dyes as part of the loot pool? Also, let us summon our chocobos in Eureka. Would be nice to have for smaller parties or lack of healers.
