The only way to stop people from doing content in their event gear is to make the moves randomized that the mob does, this may not be possible under the current engine. The only reason we can do ifrit in pjs basically is that ifrit does preset moves, mages here, tank here, dds there, if you're in the right place, and you're tank has hate, no one else should get hit. Random moves = we can't predict what he does = we have to do the fight in appropriate gear to negate damage.
The gear potency has nothing to do with how difficult or not difficult the Ifrit fight is, its his preset moves that make it so easy, how do people not know this?

Hello, I believe what Gukswar is trying to say is we need a balance of the game. The fact I was able to tank on Conjurer should not be possible or in the least be extremely difficult. The fact that others have done it in Reindeer suits is a complete joke. Personally I enjoyed that fight and wish to do other extreme things in the future but the Reindeer suit I'm not to sure about. As far as Ifrit's mechanics go I think SE is on the right track having the encounters do all their abilities randomly doesn't leave room for learning it just causes extensive difficulty and stress on the players. Once you learn the fight it should be the same every time. I would suggest making defense actually do something. The reason this fight is able to be "tanked" so easily is because there is very little to no difference in damage taken with VIT/Defense stats. I get hit just as hard on my Gladiator as I did my Conjurer, the only real difference was that my Gladiator has a lot more HP. This would also explain why most Gladiators stack HP materia as defense/dex/evade do so little it can be compared to nothing.

it doesn't mater i can straight up tank the Moogle as conj- that make's no sense at all being a healer.
I take about the same dammage as on Glad on my conj.
