Linkshell crests

The current Linkshell Emblem actually resembles medievil heraldry rather closely. Historically, such emblems were used to identify a lord and their household. Members would proudly wear those colours to represent whom held their fielty.

Their application in this game is so appropriate it's uncanny. Please don't take them away. Maybe expand them, add the ability to add mottos (like titles, but for groups), mascots (ie: Garuda can be holding the shield if the shell has bested Garuda) and other decorations. As an example:

The dolphins (yes, that is a medievil depiction of a dolphin) are the mascots, "Sense of Purpose" is the group's Motto and, of course, the emblem itself is the arms of the group.

Now imagine if the shield was your Linkshell, the kangaroo and emu were instead Ifrit and Shiva, and the plant around the base were shrubs native to Thanalan.

This is the sort of thing I want for my Linkshell.

This is the kind of crap people bring up that has no bearing on gameplay, which is the major problem right now. Leave your Goobbue mount requests and Linkshell emblem requests for 2.0!

Calm down. There is nothing wrong with ASKING for them to implement something like this. I personally don't expect them to add anything like this til 2.0 anyway.

I was about to go into a wrath laden tirade on the value of historic influences in a game that takes so much from the late Roman to early renesanse (sp), but you've done a much better and mentally stable job.

As you can see the first 2 skills you can level up is the guild aproval (needed to enter the War of Emperium) and the guild extension and the guild extension gives 6 slots for new people each level. The guardian research make Guardian pop on your castle when you are defending and the Urgent Call one is an active skill that can be use by the guild master to teleport every guild member to his location.

Well all this skills have the main purpose to use it on the War of Emperium but outside it can be used and will help a lot.

SE should add something like WoE, a big scale PvP where linkshells fights each others for something.

Not sure if that's what you meant, but yeah, I think that visual that signs that acknowledge collective LS achievements would be great!

That would promote collaboration even more and provide collective goals.

Not sure personal achievements should have anything to do with LS icon tho

As for not being able to upload your own emblem, it's really a pity. RO did it quite simply, all they had was a cache folder where the emblems of LSes you encountered were stored, and with the small size of 16x16 pixels it wasn't such a huge bandwidth/space issue. Those few mb do not matter if you have 11,3GB client data on your hdd <.<

I rather like the shape and heraldic aspects of this games Linkshell indicator. What bothers me most is our color selection. White or Yellow for a base color. Seriously SE, what I would do to a Roegadyn in a Ul'dah back alley for a black and green crest.
