Can you remind me, when did we grind out 4300 Atma crystals? I recall grinding out 12? Yeah, I guess 12 is very comparable to 4300.

This is my issue. Sure, its got 5 materia slot, but at the cost of 10 item levels so by the time you do get it, chances are you'll already be decked out in full 360 gear and ready to upgrade it to 270 with the next part of the Ivalice raid.

I did some math on this grind, and here's what I came up with:

If you farmed 50 crystals every day until the end, it'd take just over 3 months to finish an entire relic set, possibly longer entirely dependent on RNG. That's counting both crystal types I believe. The time frame...not really an issue. I don't think it is for most people, considering how many have done past relic grinds. The problem is entirely in how it's being handled. Grinding mobs for 3 straight months (possibly longer) and hitting up an occasional fate which may or may not spawn for awhile isn't my idea of fun, and I don't think it's fun for many other people either. The grind itself is a non issue, it's how it's being handled where people are rightfully frustrated with.

You don't seem to fully grasp the sheer scale of this current grind compared to past ones in THIS game. And you should considering you're an XI and XIV player. Time and effort are not equal to the rewards being given.

It really isn't FFXI though. It's battle system is missing, and Nms are basically zergfests.

It is FFXIV that SE tried to FFXIwash without really understanding what made FFXI interesting.

Except, how does one obtain one of the most valuable pieces of gear in this game? I don't think im in the minority here that grinding mobs until your eyes bleed is any better than grinding Fates until your eyes bleed.

I just hope SE wont abadon this content, and add future content to it even after SB. I would love this to grow in to rly nice "open world" even with nerfs on older content so ppl can catch up to the newest content of eureka.

Atma crystals was WAY more rare. You're getting about 5-10 per chain on lvl 12 mobs. Also you only need 1300 and something unknown to get the anemos weapon, the armor is an added "bonus" to grind for that shouldn't be compared to the zodiac/anima weapons.

Which is still 3 years after XIV lost any chance of being innovative in its formula. Should we "let go" our desire to have something different too ?

Eureka is not FFXI.
