It just came out, so what'd you expect? Give it a little time and they'll thin out as they're "newness" wears off. After 2.0, when they aren't even available anymore they'll thin out even more still. Eventually it'll be this rare trophy that only a small percentage of the population are even aware of, let alone own.

gobbue mounts are the most original idea since like what, 1.18,1.17? and ppl don't want it!?
let's roll out some more boring primal fights instead and reenter them 143312432412 times to get a full set of uselessness.

i agree with the OP, if you don't want a gobbue, just don't friggin ride it, but don't destroy the fun for those that want one.
the game's been shit enough so far, and once in a while we get something that some can enjoy but most will still bitch.
this closed minded community thinking will get this game nowhere in such a critical time where each and every feedback to SE is important feedback.

Next mount will be probably Drake xD

On other side, think when we can fight alongside with the mounts and gear them up. Chocobo hasn't a chance compared with Gooblue power. (well this is if they ever do the battle thing with mounts)

I think the gobbue mount is pretty sweet. I like it. I do have one complaint though...I logged on and got my mount in about 1 minute...and I just logged off and probably won't be back till 1.21.

Woulda been nice if I could go in search of and tame my own gobbue, you know? Or at least go ins earch of a mysterious tamer and duel him and his band of gobbues and once you defeat him he teaches you his methods. Something like that coulda been pretty easily done I think but the mount is still pretty cool I'm happy I have it, and I'll be a lot happier that I have it once 2.0 comes out.

and you have my axe to defend this cause goobues mounts are funny as hell my ONLY complaint is they dont run herp derpy like it does in the Uldah starting cutscene i so wish it did
