SE, Please consider removing EX trials from the Mentor Roulette.

You're not serious right? Kind of missing the point of the mentor roulette if you want certain fights excluded cause you can't be bothered to MENTOR people new to the fight

Thread title should be changed to "SE please just delete Mentors. half the mentors just want the crown and don't even go into the NN. The other half already were doing what the mentor system does without it."

Don't need to go into the NN to be a good mentor(not to mention all I've heard is negative regarding it, even from people on my server). Being willing to teach, and help people, is what makes a real mentor. Even if it takes the full time for the duty.

Hell I would get actively flamed or trolled if I tried wearing my crown regardless of advice given. Took it off a long time ago and don't intend on wearing it again unfortunately but still always help if someone asks

I'm the same, my crown only shows when I queue for Mentor roulette(usually on Sunday as that's the day I have practically nothing else going on - and at that, I queue multiple times). Try to give advice when I can, or admit when I lack adequate knowledge about something.

Yeah, I'm never in the NN since it tends to be a lot of people talking about random stuff like it's some kind of privileged Linkshell, not actually helping anyone or answering questions or the like. I took my mentoring out of the game system, personally, and the started a segment with a Twitch steamer where on Fridays we help people with content they vote on, teach them the fights and get them clears for end-game content like EXes and Savage.

I have tried starting a mentoring forum as well (as it says in my sig) but that really hasn't gotten any traction...

Can we ban mentors from being in my mentor roulette? I'm supposed to be helping noobs, not other mentors...

I have had mixed results with the Mentor Roulette and EX Primals. 50 / 50 on clearing versus abandon, and of the 50% clears, 80% were just carries for the new player(s).
If I am going to carry a player through a fight, I would rather do it unsynced.

thing is about mentor roulette is even if you don't elect to have the crown on normally as soon as you're in mentor roulette you have the crown on automatically. so they know you're the mentor.

Personally I treat Mentor Roulette as... well, Roulette. Anything is possible. If I wind up in an EX Primal fight (and it's something I remember the mechanics of) and people are having trouble, I'll try to explain what I can. Preferably one mechanic at a time.

Explaining the entire fight/phase before people are used to one specific mechanic isn't going to be very helpful.

Got Shiva EX (well, join in progress) the other day and the MT kept dying to Icebrand. I tell him he needs to make Shiva face the group when she goes into Sword stance and then turn her away from the party after that ASAP. Sadly, the group abandoned as people left.
