Star Wars a failure? Ask the 1 mil pre-orders. But if you go to the forums, it's way worse than FFXIV's with their vocal minority saying that SWTOR sucks, mainly because unsubbed player's free time is up in the next couple of days and they can't post anymore if they don't sub. Also, you should hear what their forums have to say about FFXIV. LOL
inorite? lol
to OP:
XIV 10 players and 5 of them on the forums is still very much identical to say SWTOR's 1million players and 500k of them being on the forum
All ratios, i think a lot of people dont seem to see this, they see lots on bitchin on the forums n think "wow look at all these people angry with swtor, it must suck" when in related the ratio to people posting, and people defending or just ignoring and playing is MUCH higher than XIV haha.
SWTOR is doing fine, has some major bugs atm but in general its going to do well and has been making money out the ass. Not to mention is not scrapping at any "free" months like XIV did immedately until it decided to go free to play.
As for the graphics and the OP's view on desert, well maybe the guy had his graphics on low, who knows, the game isnt next gen graphics at all, and that is because you can have hundreds of things on screen at once, if you bothered to read the devs posts you will hear they constantly state you cannot have much on screen due to the graphics being high, and this will be fixed in v2.0, do you know how they will likely fix it? dumming down the graphics lol probably not as much as SWTOR but maybe down so its on par with TERA/GW2/BladeAndSoul etc.
Would you expand on going to free to play games? Vindictus is a rather good one but I don't know what tastes you're looking for when it comes to MMO's. There are generally a lot of good f2ps just have to find the one that sticks to your liking.
I'm looking forward to these hoping they can tide me over till next year/when the next drop of p2p content we get is.
Warhammer Online pushed over 1.2 million copies within its first two weeks after release. The game is now essentially dead. While I think SWTOR will have more staying power than WAR, preorders and launch numbers don't really mean much. The real tests are the three and six month marks.
PSO was bloody awesome. You're a fool if you disagree.
Completely agree. As for the graphics issues others have mentioned, all of us here understand the problems that come with running a game on an unfinished game engine. I don't know if they'll have to go as far as releasing a 2.0 client like we're dealing with here, but the TOR client has some serious technical flaws at the moment.
Companion system in TOR is so excellent that they sd add something similar to FF???
