The answer to that probably varies between players. Myself, I think the change is kind of stupid, after having the items be account-wide for 4 years, and it makes me personally wonder now if this trend is going to extend to things like future Amazon/Other company promotions and fan fest items that have also always been account-wide. Some things I don’t care to have on all my characters, but others I do (like my mounts and some of the minions/outfits). That being said, I think people are more upset about how this change has been sort of ninja’d into the product pages after complaints (the Eorzean Symphony codes), or as some sort of afterthought/belated response to the aforementioned complaints (the Wind-up Yotsuyu).

That's what SE wants to find out. I mean, the obvious answer from all consumers should be yes, because there's no reason for it not to be... but that probably won't be the case. Some segment of the community will inevitably start defending the change and throwing around words like "entitlement" and phrases like "1% of the community" or whatever. It always happens.

Some people may opt to double dip. SE would really like that.

This change has made me change my mind on buying the artbook, which I had every intention of owning before.

I've got 4 characters at 70, and 3 working through SB. I farm certain mounts, minions, orchestrion rolls, and event items for my alts so yes, I would like all my characters to get their minion.

Really lame but really obvious why they are doing this.

At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if they started selling these limited edition/out of print minions/bonuses on the mog station after enough time has passed.

Underhanded to say the least and very concerning as well.

But the concept of a "Main" seems to be lost a bit on some people. I have 3 other characters with 3 different personas if you will, but the fact that my MNK/SAM/NIN character doesn't get a minion doesn't bother me in the least (and Im not saying you aren't allowed to be bothered).

Need? Realistically? No

But at the same time... why not?

It's not about this minion or the Symphony's orchestrion rolls specifically, but for over four years these bonus items have been for the all characters on the account, so why the change now?

Just want to be clear, its shady AF (ninja-ing in the change in the wording) and anyone who supports them is probably trolling (considering how egregious it is). I don't support it. But if they don't change it/fix it then the answer is clear: don't support the product.

I specifically use the item code minions on my alt regularly, so this is very disappointing...

This is really disheartening. This isn't even an outfit or an emote on the Mog Shop that goes to a single character where it remotely makes sense to do this (not getting into that debate) - I mean I got the Pretty Please emote for three charas. But the problem with this is that if I want this minion on more than the one chara, I don't just buy a Mog Shop item, I need to buy a physical item. Depending on where you live, that means horrible shipping and tax costs on top of the base item cost. While that might be affordable for the one item, it's ridiculous to expect people who want it on more than the one chara to go through all of those things more than once. And if someone really does live in the game and plays all their charas often or at least rotates between them so having the item for all of them makes sense?
This bites. Seriously. Please reconsider, SE :c
