We run a mch and no bard, we also don't have an ast and consistently clear 30K rdps which is more than enough to beat all the enrage timers.
Sounds like your typical static not performing optimally and blaming minimal job differences, even if you switched you would barely notice any change and they would find the next thing to complain about.
This isn't uncommon and won't go away any time soon. People are too quick to blame comp rather than admiting maybe they each need to improve.
Keep playing what you want to play.

Do not switch!! In many cases people prefer MCH and if it's utility they need hypercharge and dissemble are good enough on top of your dps which is higher than BRD if played the right way...MCH is in such a good place there is literally nothing else they need to do besides some QoL changes

I didn't read most of this thread but I'll say only this:
MCH may not have Minne or Troubadour but do not underestimate the value of well-timed Dismantle. My group runs with a MCH and when we don't have him it's amazing to see the difference. On top of flat 6% DPS increase, the job is doing VERY well.
If anything, make it so that players in range of the turret get a passive +2% crit buff like the BRD songs (or make it dh, for variety).

IMO, Dismantle is more useful as a defensive utility than Minne and Trobadour are, mostly due to its low recast and flexibility -the later specially when compared to Minne.
