House Payments

This is probably the most stupid suggestion i've read on this forum over the years, and that says alot.

Nothing justify me having to pay 1M gil per month for my Large house FC and another 1M for my private mediums on my main and my wifes account.

It's not about the gil, I have plenty but having to pay a month sub AND now paying rent. It's laughable.

You do not have my support.

Why not instead have an annoying, repetitive mini-game you have to win every 72 hours or your house is destroyed? That'll really stick it to them darn home owners.

While I am not completely against the idea of a monthly upkeep fee, the prices you list are completely, ridiculously, laughably high.
Divide them by 100 and it would be more reasonable.

It should of course also be payable in advance - several months in advance at the least. Perhaps as much as a year in advance.

A house flipper is not intent on holding onto the house, they buy them with the sole purpose of getting rid of them as fast as possible. This won't affect them in the slightest, save those that take an exceptionally long time to offload (have yet to see that) and at best they'll just tack the extra gil onto the price.

Ok if we were renting our houses that would make sense, but we are not renting they were bought outright. If you wanted to make it like real life there would be a once a year property tax based on the value of your home. I don't support this because this is a video game and not RL. There's measures in place to make ppl relinquish plots if they don't log in, just because you've been unable to get a house is no reason for those of us who have to suffer.

These numbers could easily be tweaked to be lower, or higher. Maybe even have plot value have an effect on rent costs, just as it affects the price of the plot as a whole.

Im say no and not because i cant afford it lol when u creep up on or pass a billion gil your amounts are pocket change . but as stated before we payed for our houses we are not "renting" them lol.....Now if this housing system was heres your plot you hve to pay a monthly rent that be differnt.

Im waiting for the time played per month to keep your house post lol

This would fully be a work around of the Auto-Demo, which was put in due to housing being at such a premium as it is. I cannot get behind this.

Also: most people that do have homes in game have scraped together the Gil, be it personal or FC gil, just to own one, adding fees has been shown to be something that the FFXIV community does not want for housing.

People already pay a monthly fee for owning a house, their sub. I don’t see how this would help anything tbh. Plus there have to be people who own houses who are not mega crafter/gatherers who were just barely able to afford to buy after saving for while and who would never be able to come anywhere near paying such high prices per month. I’ve been playing the game a few months and still only have shy of 1mil gil and I don’t see that number skyrocketing at any point as I don’t see myself seriously getting into crafting/gathering and I’d rather do other things with my login time than find ways to grind gil. Obviously nothing against players who do play in ways that net them enormous amounts of gil, but there have to be others like me who just don’t have deep pockets like that, and who play in different ways.

I feel like you didn't read through my whole post, if you completely missed the point I made that not only should there methods to pay through any type of game play (so using things like Poetics, or Wolf Marks), there was also a section specifically highlighting how this could make it easier for someone to keep a house, if they are going through a hard time/facing something similar to the hurricane issue not long ago.

Also bear in mind, the monthly cost wouldn't even be something high. It should be a number that is negligible for anyone that is an active player.

Again, so long as housing is a finite resource, things should be done to discourage people from owning homes that are not doing anything with them, aside from trying to flip them, or logging in once a month just to run inside so it doesn't auto-demo.

I did mention a thing about it being able to be paid in advance, as a way for people to keep their house and not having to worry about going on vacation, or having to drop their sub for a month to pay real life bills.

Also, those were just example prices, not actual intended numbers. Mostly just showing what sort of gap would be sort of okay between the different house sizes.
