Thanks for this.
I remember somebody saying I while back that you can increase your actual attack magic as much as you want, but Intelligence is what governs this. Like it's the threshold I guess?
Nice fine though.

Hi Chard,
Thanks for the post and results. :)
Do you think it'd be good to also get a 4th test with your boosted INT (362) and the base Magic Potency (451)?
No offense to OP (good testing), but I find it pretty shocking that this is a surprise to anyone. INT's effect on spell damage is high enough to eyeball the difference, and usually that means it's very potent.
What can you expect though, when 99% of the playerbase is content to assume stats have no effect because someone killed Ifrit in a costume.
sorry deleted some line of the quote.
/nod int is to magic attack bonus more, little to the magic base damage. Attack magic potency (AMP) is more to magic base damage, I actually don't think it gives thundara combo damage benefit... therefore, I don't think int will help conjure nukes more than AMP.
Lightning brand itself = ifrit's in thunder damage cus the thunder element pot = AMP. so ya when you mount any materia it will out damage ifrit's. That's only for thunder series.
but +1 int shouldn't increase that much tho... magic critical damage need to be calculated separated I think...
so...I think the best setup is follow your playing style. If you <3 combo especially thundara, go int little more. If you <3 thunder and thundaga, go AMP little more. However, a balanced setup that mixed with m. acc is better. In the end if you miss, you failed. There is no 200% acc benefit too, so don't go crazy on acc too. enough acc is enough.
