Gathering actions, quests and lines of macros skipped

You'll fail to gather the leve item, and voila, you don't have to put your tool away.
This is exacty what I do in Fieldcraft Leves that require obtaining the 3 specific items: for instance, with High-Quality Obsidian (found at +4) I place myself at -5, but this doesn't ensure that I won't find it, and so certain times I still find the item even if I'm at the opposite sweet spot. That's why, when I understand I'm about to obtain one of the 3 items, I put away my tool. But in the past, putting it away and drawing it back took me around 5 seconds, now it can take up to 15 because of the changes in the response times.
I would really like if, if I place myself at a far away sweet spot, I couldn't obtain one of the specific items, so I can make the Fieldcraft Leve last as much as I want.
Anyway, this aside, I still don't understand why the so-called “queuing of actions” was slowed down. This is similar to what happened to the battle system, but that was fixed back in 1.20 with a Text Command.
I know levequests are meant to be done quickly, but as I like gathering so much with that music, I would like to have them last as much as I want, like I always did, as atypical as it may be. ;)
An improvement (restore to how it was before, actually) in the response times wouldn't hurt, anyway.
To answer the adventurer Seif above: I know that unfortunately many Eorzeans skip through the text of quests, but there're also some who read it all. I, for one, also save the whole dialogues as screenshots at the end of the quest (Putting all filters on and widening the chat log). :D
It really depends on the approach: I did the level 36 Alchemist quest not for Hand of the Gods, but because I really enjoyed that storyline.
Like Arcell above said, a few quests also hints at something: through the old “Moonstruck” sidequest in Wineport, linking what I had learned there with Cid's at that time single line “Meteor”, I was already suspecting Dalamud would fall on us.
“Of Archons and Muses” is another small, but very interesting sidequest.
Also, there're the minor ones, like the ones with Marcette: it depends how many adventurers might care about learning more on the monsters of Eorzea. I, for one, being a Disciple of the Land, liked those. :)
And some, like the ones involving Lonsygg :D, are also fun.
Let us hope more will be introduced, with the Great cinematic storytelling of the Grand Company ones.
And now, back to my first point...

I've action queuing on and I'm sure it wasn't like this before. Really, no one noticed that after patch 1.20 there was an increase in speed in gear-equipping macros, and certain times lines are skipped? Prior to patch 1.20, I changed my sets countless times and the only time lines were skipped was if I was in one of the server processed zones (the ones where you see other adventurers' names graying out); but if I was still or running on the map or chocobo, I never had this issue, I'm sure.
And adding another line “/wait 1” doesn't seem a solution to me: there're only 10 lines in each macro, 6-7 occupied by gear-changing lines, and by the way, I wouldn't understand why I should modify my macros if they always worked fine prior to patch 1.20...
...Ahh, thanks Kiara! Actually someone else noticed this! It was the most evident thing to me after patch 1.20 and I was surprised no one brought it up yet...!
