This is correct, but the game lacks an idle-wear, so it doesn't affect annoyance bots. However perhaps what should happen is an increase in the wear rate on under-leveled gear to make botting more expensive, and stubborn players encouraged to incrementally replace their gear instead of hanging on to level 60 accessories well into level 70 and such.

Yea it would be nice if we could repair other's gear within the instance as we do our own because it sucks being that one person who has to make the whole party quit working on progression because no way to repair inside the instance.

this was a thing at ARR launch but was taken out. People kept complaining about how crafters would require high "tips"

thats not true at all actually its a gil/gold sink. not all mmo have it. bot also use upto date gear btw.

Just have it so the person asking for a repair needs to supply the Dark Matter.

Repair is the primary reason I levelled my crafters, it is a good feeling having a gear at 200% repair. Having notices, and expanded features is the way forward, not dumbing the game down

Add me to the list of people who would love to be able to repair for others. So many NPCs sell dark matter; give non-crafters a reason to keep a stock too and let me help my friends when we are learning a new fight.

The last time players were able to repair other players gear was during 1.23, not ARR launch. I think you mean melding materia in other players gear.

Some of the more recently ones especially have launched without it. Honestly, it's really not that vital to a game, it's just a nag mechanic that gets rid of gil. But, a lot of people feel like the game has to have such annoyances. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the bigger issue is how big of a timesink the gilsink is. If you don't have a crafter leveled, you're running off to NPCs to repair. Even if you have crafters leveled, you're still going in your menu and repairing. There's nothing interesting about that, and it just wastes time. The biggest nuance of the system is either your instance goes like normal or someone forgets to repair and leaves the instance.

It should just be moved to a system that withdraws money from you automatically at some point, and your items will always stay at 100%.
