I am good with the low pop. I got both my retainers up for the first time in months in uldah.
I'm sure we will have mergers/transfers. Lets let the dust settle so that they can examine the situation and decide how to proceed. The last thing we want is them making a poor decision just because a few of us were playing Zelda and didn't log on today...
The migration to Ul'Dah was a result of the player base needing to stay together in one city so that they could buy, sell, get repairs, leve-link and afk Bazaar. When the population was healthy, you could do all of those things in Limsa and Gridania.
As a Botanist, Carpenter and Archer, i used to live in Gridania. I would love to see its population at the first three months again.
All mmos end up with hub cities honestly.
People just always tend to gather in 1 spot.
Even on populated game, WoW for instance. Each faction gathers in a certain city.

Bastok Mines > Lower Jeuno > Upper Jeuno (bazaars) > Whitegate ............... > Home Nations for the Maw Teleports to past cities for Campaigns > Whitegate > Port Jeuno > The End.
XIV people just converged into Ul'dah after the main story takes you there and I guess people didn't feel like going back lol.
