Where does a new raider look for a static?

I can guarantee you that hardcore players play for fun as well. Their idea of fun just isn't wiping on the same mechanics all night long.

I would go ahead and just advertise yourself on pf, emphasize that you're looking for a casual static. Other than that you can look at the ff xiv recruitment subreddit.

Usually my friend will join a static and if they lose someone, I am the first they will recommend to fill the slot, never really put myself out there, I prefer to be with a friend or two when raiding for banter.

So ask a friend if they know anyone recruiting or just put yourself out there, send out a few shouts and PF's, I see it quite a lot.

My static advertised that they were looking for a melee DPS in PF. I applied, they gave me a spin, and they liked me. I've been raiding with them ever since.
