It's not a personal atrack, but an observation of what it appears your motives are behind this, honestly, terrible suggestion. What I think is unfair is that of the tens of thousands of players who can not get a house, only a couple of hundred per server will be available. I could not care less about the timing the housing is offered. That has never been the real problem.

Why does it have to be fair? and what is not fair about it in the first place? You put in the effort and you get the reward, everyone has the same opportunity to log on early or stalk out the maintenance. It seems pretty simple to me. What i hear from you is, oh i don't have time to wait/go online early to try and get a plot so i don't want anyone else doing that because I can't do it. Seems kinda selfish to me.

If you are not able to put in the time or effort then guess what? you will just have to hope there's left overs when you are able to go online or wait for new plots to open up in the future.

Once you stop trying to "equalize" everything in your life, you'll be much happier.

Everyone who is eligible has a shot. Whether or not you're willing to take it is entirely on you, the player.

Adding wards is not a revamp, they just have build new servers and copy the structure of the existing ones dedicated to housing, and then do some tweaks to adapt it to the new hardware, it takes time, and money (they have a lot of this), but if they wanted they could have it done withing 2 months, 1 for the arrival of the components and another one for the preparations and testing.

Despite what you seem to think, everyone has a shot. They just need to plan accordingly. If you can't or aren't willing? It sucks, but that's just the way it goes. The issue isn't that players have to rush, it's that there's not enough houses to buy. So...I think your plan is making an already dysfunctional system even more so. With how things currently are, everyone has a chance. Just gotta be ready to hit the ground running. Or keep an eye out for an open plot, because they do happen on occasion (that's how I got my house in the Goblet). We need more wards and/or plots. That's the real issue. Adding a lottery into the mix? Good lord, just...no.

More wards solves nothing. Instanced housing pretty much would have solved the issue.
I care not about the so called "neighborhood" aspect nor do others as housing areas rarely see social activities.
Since sub rewards has changed to like a point system, perhaps this can also be looked at?
It is not a great idea but better then the mess we have now and that they care not to address

Now many will be disappointed trying to rush just to get nothing.
Everyone has a chance yes but having tried since housing was launched and still nodda, i will be very annoyed.
Other years i had to work mind you, this time i no lifed it and took holidays for it, lol

To be fair, I do think this could help. With a proper priority system based on how much housing you have had in the past, if you have any housing on alts, etc, I think it's a good idea. And to stop anyone saying "Oh you just want a chance to get a house" 2 things: 1 it's at 11am my time, I will be awake then easy and able to join in the rush, and I have very solid internet to back me up on my PC, and 2 I already have a house and have zero interest in Shirogane (my little cottage in Lav Beds does me fine).

I do agree a full revamp is needed, but maybe this could help stem the hoarding for selling later on as a band-aid until a proper solution can be implemented (i.e. instanced housing most likely).

Instanced housing would definitely solve the problem, but what we have is what we've got atm, so people are trying to come up with ideas on how to make the system we have work better.

If anything, this would lessen the potential plots. What stops someone with five alts making a bid on multiple plots? You've just made it easier since now they wouldn't have to log out and battle the queues.

Simply put: If you have an alt and have multiple bids, if any character gets a plot, all alts are automatically put to the bottom of the queue for priority (meaning unless there isn't enough people with higher priority bidding on one, you don't get it guaranteed), like I mentioned earlier. Perhaps to stop differing service accounts, use anything that could tie accounts to the same person (such as on the same service account, same address, etc) in the calculation for finding alts to stop separate service accounts being used to bypass it.
