The Game Is Amazing, Everything Else.... Not So Much

Do you people play other mmorpg's at all? I don't think so.

The launcher is fine and its not the fault of SE if you are not able to remember or write down your own PW and compared to many other games it loads pretty fast.

The issue you have seems more with your antivirus than the launcher. I've never had problems with the launcher, but I also don't use antivirus software, as it is pretty useless in a lot of cases and bogs the system down.

Which antivirus do you use, because I've never had the issue you're describing. I personally use Bitdefender.

Well you didn't make it clear that you got it to work. You could have gotten your issues after some time. I got my patch detection issue many months after I started playing.

What OS are you using? Never had anti-virus issues at all related to FFXIV in Windows 7 or 10.

About the websites, a lot of the navigational issues have to do with SE being an asian company. Asian websites often feel a bit alien to western users because things are often placed in such a way that we're so unused to. I have heard of asians having similar problems when browsing a website from the west. The Lodestone just takes some getting used to, as does the main SE site. But The Mog Station is seriously a disgrace. I suppose the main thing is that security is good, and I have not heard of it being bad but navigating the site is awful.

Honestly they should update the launcher and make the store part of The Mog Station part of it.

That "silly" password system is there to protect your account from getting hacked. Personally I'm happier not getting my account hacked over just having to remember my password and/or reset it if I forget it.

You came from Blizzard? Lol. Try the FFXIV 1.0 launcher. That was way worse. I don't see why you are complaining. I've been playing FFXIV since September 2010 of 1.0.

That's an issue with your anti-virus not the launcher.

you must be new to mmorpgs if this is the worst launcher you have seen.
or at least new to final fantasy mmorpgs. there is 1 launcher from them that makes this launcher feel like the best thing in the world...

playonline...... still have nightmares....

I just want to say I’m not a fan of the launcher, remember when just double clicking on an icon immediately launched a game? Those were better times.
