Casual player with casual thinking in casual game, who to blame?
Will have to agree with this one.
OP, try to get in a more laidback / casual linkshell that does a few events, get some friends, do Ifrit with em a bit, then start joining random groups. Most random groups will refuse players with no experience, and quite frankly, nothing wrong with that. Random parties already have a harder time beating content, no need to make it even harder with someone that's doing it the first time.
Just because people aren't willing to carry you / teach you the battle or simply don't trust you will be able to do a good job regardless of your previous experience (they DON'T know you, after all), it doesn't mean they are asses, elitists or whatever.
FFXI was known to the MMO world as a game full of wanna be elitist FFXIV might as well carry on that same tradition.
Please start a practice party for any end content which u just take any class to know what's going on inside and judge it urself will you able to do it your favoured class. I got many LS member complaint why i cant join this n that once i let them try they know what is the problem and wont ask anymore to rank up other class to do it.
Honestly, even i killed Ifrit like over few hundred times im still not sure if i able to do it with PUG/MRD as dps without any dead.
I find the community in this game a lot more relaxed than a lot of other games lol. Even SWTOR now has huge, freaking giant, aholes.
