SE can be a bit tricky, maybe down the line they might. ( SE I really hope you do )

I can see it. Yojimbo Extreme. The guy steals 1M gils from each party member to pay Yojimbo. If you don't have, instant death. xD
Siren, Diabolos and Fenrir (and I guess Tonberry king?) were all relegated before Yojimbo. The trend seems to have been that other than the staples (Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh etc.), the EX trials have a theme unrelated to classic summons (hell, four classic summons are raid bosses, not EX trials). I would expect to see the more obscure and niche summons (such as Quezecotl, Brothers, Kujata, Hades, Anima, Magus Sisters) relegated to dungeons.
If Yojimbo proves popular however, SE has shown the potential for him to return through the use of Diabolos in Dun Scaith
The thing is, Yojimbo fits perfectly with SB's aesthetic and over all direction. He is a perfect candidate to be a staring Primal.
Also the "niche" summons thing doesn't really hold true. Bismark and Lakshmi could be seen as niche, as their appearance is scarce throughout the franchise. I'm not sure what discussion the devs have to chose which summons are Trials or not. Given the Eastern theme of SB, summons like Yojimbo, Kujata, Asura, they all seem to fit the bill perfectly
Another thing: When we collect the Gil during this fight, shouldn't we get Gil?
A strange amendment that I would make would be that that anomaly to the pattern has so far consisted of an Esper from FFVI (because SE has a hard-on for that game) appearing in the X.0 patch alongside an XIV exclusive primal. Other than this noticeable pattern, everything I said holds true.
If memory serves, the Roe in the back only manages to scrape together 500,000 gil for the second payment if you read his speech bubbles. Considering I have shown up for that fight with more on me....
Yeah, the guy was unusually cheap.
