Tenacity lowers damage you take, but it increases the damage you do by the same amount. If you mean it is a lower priority substat for damage you are correct. Even then the difference between the best and worste stat I thought was estimated to be a fairly small difference. But I could be wrong.

200 crit is like 1.5% crit rate at 70. i highly doubt it's very effective in why damage seemingly decreased. In a raid scenario you presumably have BRD, DRG, SCH, or ASTs that buff crit insanely more anyway.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I know Tenacity increases your damage by a small amount. But here we have someone wanting to know why their Lost Allagan Battleaxe seems to be doing less damage than a weapon that has ZERO Tenacity, 84 less Determination, but makes it up with 263 Critical Hit (not to mention less STR and weapon damage).

Critical hit rate also affects your critical hit damage. So regardless of how affected or not your critical hit rate might be, the damage you deal whenever you DO land a crit is going to get affected. I'm not sure by how much, and I'm not expecting it to be anything big, but that is why I proposed a test in which only critical hit attacks be compared - to see if that might explain why the Lost Allagan Battleaxe seems weaker. Base crit damage is 1.40 modifier with a .01 increase for each 1% added. Could be TC just used a small sample size and happened to crit more during one so it appears as if it's worse. On a 3 min parse, crits can make damage highly variable, it all usually evens out in a longer fight. I know back in 3.x my WAR dummy parses could vary up to 200 dps if I just crit more Fell Cleaves.

The only thing you are doing is screaming "hurr durr CRIT over everything" at people and to call it logic. Maybe you should go and look up how much other stats actually increase our dmg.

I can't believe that there are still people thinking that 200 of a specific secondary stat over others can outweight weapon damage + primary stat. Especially when you take into account the fact that higher ilvl weapon also has more secondary stats on it, even if it's not the "optimal" ones. And crit isn't even our best DPS secondary stat as for now. Please stop spreading such misinformation.

Remember that scaling is reset every expansion to prevent a run-away-train effect with linearly scaling stats. So crit is actually not that good right now. In fact I think Det outweighs it until we get like 2-3K Crit, and for now at current values, Crit doesn't increase our damage much more than Tenacity does. You can see this with SkS now too, as in HW 1000 SkS would have been a 2.35 GCD or something bananas like that, whereas right now its only about 2.4-2.41 iirc. Contrast this with stats like DH that don't really scale at all, and provide the same DPS increase no matter how much or how little you already have (part of why the stat is so good right now).

I don't worry about secondary stats too much until BiS is within reach outside of keeping my SkS low, but what I keep hearing is DH>Det>Ten>Crit>SkS, which to be honest sounds about right.

I would say go for the highest weapon damage possible, critical hit can be enhanced by other party member's utilities. Don't know how but I do kill a v3s dummy faster with allagan weapon. But since my group is on casual side of raiding, we just get whatever available to us and don't bother with bis.
