More weapons

This will not happen since the weapons are locked to classes (well jobs) and until SE makes some big changes to the class system it will stay that way. so I would cross your fingers for 5.0

This is like the only game where someone devoting their life to learning a combat art decides that the best way to do it is to only use one specific type of weapon.

It's the entire basis of the armoury system. Taking that out would be like taking materia out of FF7. XIV needs some things to establish its own identity.
