MNK still does high damage. It has low potencies to balance GL, TS, and FoF. And the end result of MNK changes isn't to match SAM. SAM is supposed to hit harder than MNK. SAM should hit harder than every other dps that's not a BLM since they are the only non-utility classes.
That being said. 100% crit on chakra does seem op but it removes the double rng gate plaguing the unlucky monks like op. Deep Meditation is fundamentally flawed since instead of working on a consistent build, it's a proc that needs to hit 5 times to be effective. Even bard's pitch perfect has a foil to it's RNG with the ephemeral arrow. MNK is far from perfect as a DPS, you can just wade through the bs to get high dps in spite of the contradictory moves and heavy luck dependent chakra build.
i have to agree monk is kinds of broken atm . bootshine should be 100% crit from the from the rear but since they added Direct crit kind og mess up bootsine 100% crit from thrt the rear
btw appreciate you guys opinions
Blacktestament7 and Aizan have the right idea, though SE could go either way, 100% on pure critical hit weaponskills or 50% on Critical Hit and Critical direct hit weaponskills. That show leniency on either kind of procs. Tbh I seen alot of ciritcal direct hits so this change make sense
I've seen chakras proc on direct crits from bootshines, so yes they can proc on any direct crit, its still fairly low rng though. The only problem I have with chakras is in fact the rng added to the job. Monk's big catch in any raid role was being the "consistent and sustained dps" because there was never any rng involved other than getting crits, now we have this rng added to our openers, especially with brotherhood's effect (a problem being that you don't even get your own 5% damage buff) being entirely reliant on weaponskills, which overall can dramatically lower a monk's dps with a poor party composition, basically making pugging for any monk a nightmare most of the time. Brotherhood also being almost completely useless in any 4-man situation and entirely useless when solo. This makes any dummy training or parsing extremely unreliable, even for stone sky sea.
I've seen several times when opening into an encounter with a weaponskill-heavy party, still not getting more than 2 or 3 chakras off of the party during brotherhood's duration. Or otherwise being lucky and getting frequent chakra procs off your party, you can get 3 extra forbidden chakras off at maximum within riddle of fire's duration. Why only 3? Because lo and behold forbidden chakra actually has a cooldown of 5 seconds, meaning if you DO actually get good RNG brotherhood procs off your party, you're still waiting to use the skill, likely wasting time and procs from brotherhood while you're stuck at 5 stacks waiting to use forbidden chakra again. Its a little broken and the difference between using that 250 forbidden chakra either 1 or 4 times in an opener being completely out of the monk's control is the opposite of consistent, the job's new traits and skills weren't thought over very well and a fix to make chakra building consistent is all I'd like to see.
