If they nerf Normal mode, they need to add EX at the same time, and make EX as hard as it should be relative to the current difficulty of normal.
Also, Normal isn't really that hard. People just suck at mechanics. I did a 4-man run of it yesterday and it went better and faster than most DF parties. So really, if people could actually avoid mechanics it wouldn't be an issue.
How is the Chrysalis difficult again? I've done it many many times and almost never had issues (yes synced)
I don't think they ever nerfed Final Steps of Faith, and that was the last trial deemed Too Hardâ„¢ for MSQ
Final Steps of Faith is way easier than Shinryu, mechanically. But LakshmiEX is not easier than Shinryu. Shinryu's mechanics can largely be cheesed with good healers, with the exception of idiots falling off the platform again and again and again. Lakshmi's mechanics can't be cheesed so easily, though it is easy for an Extreme, since as long as you Vril at the right time there's not much damage output. For example you can survive Shinryu's Hypernova (stack marker) with 4 players, or even 3 players topped off with shields. As far as I know, the fight has no enrage. My 4-man run took 15 minutes and it didn't enrage. If there is an enrage it's so far in that nobody is ever likely to hit it. The fact that it can be 4-manned alone means that as long 4/8 players actually know what they're doing, they can carry the other half of the party as dead weight. You can't do that in Lakshmi at the moment. The DPS check on enrage is too tight at the moment. It might be manageable with 4 players if all of them bring professional level DPS to the table, but that's an extreme case.
