Okay i think i have discovered something that people are not aware off Scholar guide.

I main both SCH and WAR.

As SCH I disagree with your posting. Being a healer is a thinking game in general, and if you arent thinking ahead, youre doing it wrong (both for tanking and healing mind you). The only issue I have is the reduced MP gain from Aetherflow. Other than that, so long as you adapt, you can certainly adapt to the 4.0 changes making it more than a "situational healer"

Look, someone who thinks Fey Union is useful. I can't remember the last time I used it. I think it was in the last fight of the 4.0 Story, and the tank died anyway. That was when I realised how slow and bad that skill is.

As an "extra" Aether spender, Energy Drain >>>> Sacred Soil in almost every situation. The chance for a free Succor can't compete with the free damage and guarantee of MP returned that ED offers.

in basically every aoe situation the optimal way to heal it is just to use indom
rouse should be used when whispering dawn is up not when people are low

The only real problems with the skill are the range and it relying on the fairy's AI to start up. It's actual heals (when taking advantage of the Direct Hit bug) are fine. It's great in situations like Susano's sword where the tank will be staying in one place and you want to be able to deal with other things, or Lakshmi's healer-target circles where you want to take them away from the party. It does of course have the negative synergy issue with Dissipation, but Dissipation has problems anyway.

And can people please stop using this as a justification for the horrible mess of healer role skills? This is only viable in dungeons; in raids you absolutely need to keep Protect for rezzes.

its not a justification for role skills being how they are its explaining that you can get something more useful

Its funny i have yet to see anyone try what i said and give me feedback but you would rather just justify it as incorrect it seems like everyone here is thinking this is 3.6 or something and that SE just nurfed the SCH for the sake of it...

Lets put it this way i have tested this and it works for me i at least came to the forum to try and possibly give someone the mean's to understanding of how to utilise some skills to aid those who don't understand but all i hear in the reply's is people complaining how scholar is bad and we should abandon it and anyone speaking of it in a positive light should be chastised for it because everyone fears change word of advice for everyone learn understand and adapt if your a real scholar or a healer for that fact you should understand that if you cant understand that then unfortunately your a horrible healer that demands others should adapt to your needs and you believe you should not be blamed.

No wonder people say forums are toxic place's.

The problem with swapping out protect is that people die in encounters all the time, and then you need to swap it back on. Similarly the problem with taking Esuna off your bar is that people make mistakes, and often get debuffs that could be avoided and would be well served with a cleanse, and fixing your bar for each individual encounter is the essence of anti-fun micromanagement. While Protect is fine as an option, it is simply a bad quality-of-life adjustment to make an entire role utility an optional choice when there are no solid alternatives to replace the job function, and I am fully aware DPS have long-cooldown limited variants of debuff removeable that frankly suck.

The swapping of protect is for battles that require 2 healers you only need 1 healer casting protect its mana free and has the cast time of a normal heal the other healer can use rescue instead also i kept esuna as a none swapable did not put it in the description as everyone who is a healer should know how it works and how needed it is still confuse to why its a role ability taking up 1 role slot.
